The Interim Principal, Term 1 Week 11

Dear parents and caregivers,

Pulteney’s Old Scholars are an integral part of our School community. We are very pleased that we have 77 Old Scholars’ children attending Pulteney. This is a valuable connection to our enduring traditions which has a positive influence on the School today and the authentic relationship these past students feel with Pulteney.

We often gather for reunions to celebrate our shared history; we also look towards the future with optimism and determination. After a long hiatus due to the challenges posed by the pandemic, which reminded us of the resilience and strength of our school community, we are delighted to announce a significant milestone for our School community, and particularly our Old Scholars. The Old Scholars will have their first annual dinner for some years on Saturday 4 May, from 6pm at Jarmer’s Kitchen. We are thrilled to extend a warm invitation to all former students to join us for a memorable evening of reconnecting, reminiscing and celebrating.

Ticket are available to purchase online, to purchase tickets, please click here.

By coming together for the annual dinner, we reaffirm our commitment to upholding the values and traditions that have defined Pulteney for generations.

In the meantime, we invite Old Scholars to stay connected with us through our Pulteney Old Scholars network. Share your stories, updates and photos with us on social media and submit stories for the Prosper magazine. The Pulteney Old Scholars Association (POSA) has strong sporting clubs with soccer, AFL, AFLW and Netball teams. You may wish to consider joining these teams. Let’s continue to celebrate our shared journey and the enduring bonds that unite us as Navy Blues.

Strategic Intent for 2024

Throughout this term, I have unpacked the six guiding principles of the School’s Strategic Plan. Pulteney’s leadership team will work on aspects of this throughout the year.

As many of you are aware, our major strategic intent for the year is to foster an inclusive and connected community where every member feels valued, supported and empowered to thrive. We aim to achieve this by prioritising collaboration, communication and empathy in all our initiatives. By listening to the diverse voices within our community and actively addressing their concerns, we will work towards building a stronger sense of belonging and shared purpose. Through innovative programs, events, and outreach efforts, we will create opportunities for meaningful engagement and positive social impact. Together, we will cultivate a vibrant and resilient community that embraces diversity, promotes equity, and celebrates the unique contributions of each individual.

This strategic intent statement emphasises the importance of inclusivity, collaboration and community empowerment, providing a clear direction for the community’s actions and initiatives this year.

As we conclude the first term, I hope that you all enjoy a change of pace and some time to re-energise. Safe travels for anyone travelling and I hope those staying home enjoy the staycation perhaps exploring new restaurants, playgrounds or the comfort of your home space.

Until next term
