Instrumental/Drama Soiree Tuesday 7 May 6pm Chapel

We hold three Instrumental/Drama Soirees each year, which are small, friendly concerts in the Chapel, with around 20 students performing. These concerts are designed to encourage our youngest musicians to perform a short piece to the very supportive audience, so these students can begin their journeys as performing musicians. We also have older more experienced performers play. If your child is interested, please ask them to let their music tutors know. The families of listed students wanting to perform will have an email with details of the event sent out in Week 10 of this Term.

Legally Blonde Production T-shirts:

Student members of the cast, stage crew, makeup crew, and orchestra are invited to purchase and wear our Legally Blonde production t-shirt. This not only serves as a fantastic promotional tool to the Pulteney community, but also develops a sense of connection amongst the entire production team. The t-shirt is not a compulsory item. However, we have found that the ‘show shirt’ is a popular keepsake. Production t-shirts may be worn at rehearsals, holiday workshops, production week, and on approved school days in Term 2 (TBA).

T-shirts cost $25.00 each, which will be added to your family’s school account. You can find more information and order your t-shirt using the following link: https://forms.office.com/r/r1NmNTYdu9?origin=lprLink

Junior School Performing Arts Program changes – remainder of Term 1

Some changes have been made to the scheduled Junior School Performing Arts program, so please run your eye over the information below as it might be important for your child.

SALE ITEMS

Nicholls Building Storeroom Items for Sale

We have gone through the storeroom and found many items we no longer need or use. These items include instruments, amplifiers, and AV equipment. We would love to see these instruments and equipment to find a new life and purpose.

Attached is a list for your perusal. If you are interested in purchasing anything, please contact me directly. All monies raised will go back into the performing arts capital expenditure budget for 2024.

Non-Attendance to Co-curricular Performing Arts Groups/Troupes/Choirs/Bands

We are currently working on a detailed management policy on how students are to attend co-curricular rehearsals and events, with absences to be handled more cohesively across the School. We hope to have this policy formulated and approved this term. We will present this policy in PRW when it is released.

Cabaret in the Lane, Thursday 11 April (Week 11 Term 1)

All donations are gratefully received and will be part of the Cabaret Raffle. We are looking for Gourmet food and Garden items you are comfortable donating to the cause. The funds raised by FoPA are invested back into the Performing Arts to benefit the students.

Tickets are now available for $25 and can be purchased here! Charcuterie boxes can be purchased under the same link – one box will feed 3-4 adults. The event is strictly no BYO, however, alcohol and additional bakery items can be purchased on site on the night.

In Week 11, Friday 12 April, there is no music at the Coffee in the Quad as we recover from the 2024 Cabaret the night before. I understand the café will still be open that last day of the term.

Adelaide Eisteddfod Entries

I have identified many students who I would like to encourage to participate in the annual Adelaide Eisteddfod, an event that runs from late May – late August. The parents of students identified will receive an email soon informing of the selection and the sections relevant. A form will be attached so the parents can accept or decline this offer. Once the form is completed and the offer is accepted, I will enrol the student into the Eisteddfod and pay the associated fees.

Year 5 Band Performance

In Week 2, Term 2, our talented Year 5 Band members will be performing at the Junior School Assembly on Tuesday 7 May. Letters to parents of students involved will be sent home in Week 10.

Tickets to this year’s huge MS/SS Musical Theatrical presentation of Legally Blonde the Musical will be released soon. Cast member’s families will have a few days to access the tickets first before the tickets are released to general public.
