Middle School, Term 1 Week 9

The recent casual day, orchestrated by our School’s language teachers, became a vibrant celebration of belonging and cultural diversity. It was heartening to witness numerous staff and students enthusiastically participating in various activities, such as the Japanese Suikawari, where a watermelon splitting challenge brought smiles and laughter. Additionally, the event featured a delightful array of German pastries and Chinese treats, offering a flavourful journey into different culinary traditions. Through this communal experience, we not only embraced the richness of diverse cultures but also strengthened our sense of unity and inclusivity within the school community.

Our next casual day is the Lenten Fundraiser this Wednesday 27 March supporting charities for ovarian cancer, testicular cancer and childhood cancer. This fundraiser has been organised by our Year 12 prefects and they welcome baked good donations and a gold coin donation.

There are some guidelines that students need to adhere to, mostly due to health and safety guidelines. Please refer to the following so that it can be an enjoyable and safe day for all:

  • Shoulders must be covered (i.e. no strapless or singlet tops to be worn)
  • Slogans and logos must not be offensive
  • Shoes must cover feet properly (i.e. no thongs or ugg-boots)
  • No heavy make-up (as per usual)
  • Different jewellery may be worn, but still only one set of earrings
  • Long hair must be tied back (as per usual)
  • The day is not a costume or dress-up day ie. no ‘onesies’, no pyjamas

If your child has PE on the day, they are still expected to wear appropriate exercise clothes, although this may be non-Pulteney PE uniform sports clothes. We look forward to an enjoyable day whilst raising important funds to support numerous charities.

Last Thursday, our Middle School and Senior School students participated in the House Ultimate Frisbee Challenge for the Rungie Cup. Please see the results below:

This Thursday for our Easter Chapel service students will gather to reflect on the significance of this special time.
