Middle School, Term 1 Week 11

Walking through the Middle School during lesson time offers a unique insight into the vibrant atmosphere that fills the Graham Lange Centre. There’s a distinct hum of activity, a symphony of students describing, interpreting, inferring and activating prior knowledge. You can feel the energy as minds engage in wondering, planning and questioning, each level humming with the pursuit of understanding. It’s a testament to the dynamic learning environment we’ve cultivated—a place where curiosity thrives and knowledge is actively pursued.

As the Year 7 students complete their first term in the Middle School, we couldn’t be prouder of their achievements and growth. They have embraced new challenges with enthusiasm, navigated unfamiliar terrain with resilience and shown remarkable adaptability in transitioning to their new academic environment. Their commitment to learning and their willingness to engage with new ideas have been outstanding. The Year 7s will participate in a shared lunch on Friday 12 April. A letter with further information will be emailed tomorrow (Wednesday).

As our Year 8 and Year 9 students continue to progress through the Middle School, it’s evident that they are growing not only academically but also emotionally and socially. Throughout Term 1, they demonstrated increasing maturity in their approach to learning and interactions with others. As individuals, they are developing a deeper understanding of themselves and their place in the world, while also becoming positive role models for their peers. Their commitment to personal growth and their willingness to support one another make them invaluable members of our school community. We are proud to see them thrive and look forward to the positive impact they will continue to make throughout Term 2 and beyond.

Our Middle School is undeniably a special place to be and I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it. The sense of community, the dedication of our students and staff, and the vibrancy of learning that permeates every corner make it a truly unique environment. Together, we create a supportive and nurturing space where growth and achievement flourish. It’s a privilege to witness the daily triumphs and the collective spirit that define our Middle School. I am filled with gratitude for all who contribute to making it the exceptional place it is. Have a wonderful term break!
