Welcome to Year 4 2024

Dear Parents/Caregivers,
We hope you have all enjoyed a wonderful break over the summer and the students are feeling refreshed and excited to start Year 4.

We have outlined some information below that may be helpful for you and your child as the new school year begins.

Please note, Full School Summer uniform is to be worn on day 1, Tuesday 30 January 2024.

We look forward to meeting and welcoming those of you who are able to attend the Junior School Parent Information and Welcome Evening at 5.30pm on Thursday 1 February. Please RSVP here.

Term 1 is a 11-week term, with Easter falling within the Term, Friday 29 March – Monday 1 April.

Books and Stationery

  • By now you should have received your stationery packs. Please check the order carefully so you can chase up any missing items with the company before the term starts.
  • To support us with our organisation for 2024, please ensure that all items are clearly named.
  • We kindly ask that you do not cover the exercise books as we have made subject specific covers in class. Having said that, if books have already been covered, we will assist your child in class to add the class cover.
  • Families may drop off student books on Monday 29 January between 2pm and 3pm. Teachers will also be available at this time.
  • We have provided students with pencil pots this year to store core stationery items to build their organisational skills. In the pencil pots there will be a lead pencil, rubber, sharpener, scissors, glue stick and ruler. Students will also need a pencil case that is big enough to fit day-to-day stationery, which will be stored in their trays.
  • Please also ensure your child has a named Pulteney play hat.

Uniform

The children are required to wear their sport uniform to school on the following days:

  • Year 4 Physical Education days are Wednesday and Thursday
  • Any other day that your child participates in co-curricular activities
  • Children are to wear their formal uniform to school on the other days.
  • Play hats are required every day at school and worn during Recess and Lunch when the UV rating is 3 or above.

Please pack a healthy snack for a morning Brain Food break.  This snack could consist of fresh fruit or vegetables, yoghurt, cheese or dried fruit. No processed food please.
