Welcome to Year 4, 2026!

We are so excited to begin the year with your children and look forward to working together throughout their learning journey.

To stay up to date with important information throughout the year, we strongly encourage you to download the Pulteney Parent App and subscribe to Year 4.

Books and Stationery

  • Once your books and stationery arrive please check you have everything.
  • You can contact the supplier directly if anything is missing.
  • To help your child stay organised, please ensure everything is clearly labelled.
  • This year, we ask that exercise books not be covered at home, as we have created subject-specific covers for the children to use.
  • If books have already been covered, that’s completely fine. We will help your child add the class cover.
  • A large soft pencil case is recommended for storing spare stationery items (pencils, pens, erasers, etc.).
  • Pencil pots will be supplied on tables for everyday use.
  • Families are welcome to drop off books and stationery on the afternoon before school begins on Tuesday 27th January, between 2- 3pm. Teachers will be available during this time if you need any assistance.

Uniform

Children will be required to wear their sports uniform on two days each week. We will confirm the specific sports days as soon as our timetable is finalised.
On all other days, children should wear their formal uniform, unless a co-curricular activity requires otherwise.
Please ensure your child has a named Pulteney play hat.
These must be worn outside during recess and lunch in Terms 1 and 4, and in Terms 2 and 4 when the UV rating is 3 or above.

Please visit the Pulteney Uniform Shop for opening times, seasonal uniform guides, and to purchase any required items.

Brain Food

Please pack a small, healthy snack for the morning Brain Food break.

Ideas include:

  • fresh fruit or vegetables
  • cheese
  • yoghurt
  • dried fruit

We ask that Brain Food be unprocessed and that no nuts or nut-based products be brought to school, as Pulteney is a nut-aware school.

Children may also bring an additional healthy snack for the afternoon if needed.

Please also send a named drink bottle filled with water each day.

Tuck Shop and Lunches

  • Children may bring their own lunch and recess items from home or order through Qkr! App.
  • To download the app go to the Parent App and visit links
  • All online orders must be placed before 8:30 am on the day.
  • We do not have access to a fridge to store your child’s lunch, so please ensure that an ice bag or freezer block is packed within your child’s lunch box to keep their food fresh and cool.
  • We are also unable to heat food, so suggest either packing hot food in a thermos or ordering a hot meal from the tuck shop if you wish your child to eat something warm for lunch.
  • Please send a named drink bottle containing water for your child to drink during class time. Please note, we have a water only policy at Pulteney.

Morning & After School Routines

MORNING

  • Families may use the Gilles Street Kiss-and-Drop from 8:15 to 8:30 am.
  • Learning begins promptly at 8:30 am.
  • Children arriving after 8:30 am must be signed in at Allan Wheaton House before coming to class.

Each morning, children will be asked to:

  • carry their own school bag
  • unpack their diary and drink bottle
  • They are then welcome to play until the bell.

AFTERNOON

  • Our school day ends at 3.20pm.
  • Students can be collected from the Year 3-6 basketball court (outside the Year 3 classrooms). Alternatively, they can wait with the duty teacher at the Gilles St entrance until parents arrive.
  • Children attending OSHC will be collected by an OSCH staff member.
  • Children who are not collected by 3.40pm will be taken to OSHC.
  • If your child requires OSHC and Vacation Care Services please fill out the enrolment form here

Other information

  • Toys, games, and special items should be kept at home to avoid loss or damage.
  • Birthday invitations should be sent to home addresses using the Buzz Book (via the Parent Community Portal). To avoid accidentally upsetting others, invitations should not be handed out at school.
  • Children who need to leave during the school day must be signed in and out at Allan Wheaton House before coming to class.

We are really excited for the year ahead and look forward to meeting you all in the coming weeks.
