From the Interim Principal, Term 1 Week 9

Dear Parents and care givers,

Dear Parents and care givers,

Pulteney’s sixth guiding principle

At Pulteney, it is our goal embrace a mindset of continuous improvement, where feedback is solicited and acted upon to refine processes, practices, and learning experiences over time. Our sixth guiding principle is developed around the idea that by incorporating a culture of learning and growth, personalised development plans and pathways, integration of technology, fostering innovation and experimentation, looking for collaboration elements into its operations, a high-performing organisation can create a dynamic environment that supports personalised learning experiences and fosters diverse innovation, ultimately driving long-term success and competitive advantage.

We aim to empower staff to be active participants in the change process. Encourage them to contribute ideas, take ownership of their roles in implementing change, and adapt to new ways of working. It is important that we recognise and celebrate contributions and milestones along the way. By creating safe spaces for experimentation, reflection, and learning our staff will pursue a good to great process for Pulteney.

It is clear that seeking input and feedback from students, families, employees and even suppliers is an important step in developing out plans and strategic initiatives. This is to ensure that different perspectives are considered and that all feel ownership over the change initiative. Through fostering open and honest communication, we will build trust and alignment around the strategic direction of the School.

Our sixth principle talks to adaptive change, which requires adaptive leadership. This refers to our ability as a school and individuals to thrive in the face of complex, uncertain, and rapidly changing environments. Our core focus in all this is to ensure student achievement is at the heart of all we do.

At Pulteney we believe that by embracing adaptive change as a core competency, the School can become more agile, resilient, and innovative in navigating complex and uncertain environments, ultimately positioning the school for long-term success and sustainability.

This is the last of the guiding principles that informs our Strategic Plan, these are designed to shape the vision for education at Pulteney in the next decade. I hope that you have found my distillation of the principles of use and that you have an insight into the School’s strategic direction. In the next few weeks, the leadership team and I will be reworking the Strategic Plan further so that it meets the requirement of the feedback from last year. That was that we provide a clearer statement of the vision and the direction of the Strategic Plan.

I hope many of our Junior School families can join us for Sport’s Day.

With Easter upon us I hope that you enjoy time with family and friends. This holiday of Easter represents a time of hope, renewal and new life. May the blessings of Easter; love, peace and joy be with you all.

Until next week

Deb Dalwood
Interim Principal
