Welcome to the New Pulteney Parent App

We recognise the importance of streamlining communication, and the Pulteney Parent App has been introduced with this goal in mind—to provide a central and secure platform for the majority of school communications. Unlike Pulteney’s weekly e-newsletter, PRW, which delivered updates for all year levels, the app offers targeted communication that is personalised, accessible in real time, and tailored to each family’s needs.

Pulteney Parent App as a central communication platform.

The App is the main hub for parent communication, consolidating multiple functions in one place:

  • Notices (real-time updates, urgent notifications)
  • Push notifications
  • Content filtering & personalisation
  • School calendar integration
  • PRW/newsletter integration
  • Directory/contact list
  • Co-curricular function
  • Absence reporting (integrated with School’s database)
  • Co-curricular schedules, results, and notifications (integrated with Clipboard)

Please note that there is no need to access Clipboard separately, as all co-curricular information (training, matches, team lists, results, and cancellations) is integrated into the App.

Parent Portal (secure information & administration)

The Parent Portal remains the platform for private student and family data, including:

  • Viewing & updating student medical information
  • ‘My Account’ finance details and fee payments
  • Academic reports
  • Contact details and parent information
  • Parent/teacher interviews
  • Student timetable
  • Excursion consents

Seesaw & Canvas (Learning & Student Progress)

  • Seesaw (ELC – Year 6) → Class activities, student work, educational resources, and teacher feedback
  • Canvas (Years 7 – 12) → Learning Management System (LMS) for assignments, grades, and reporting

Both platforms are purpose-built for student learning and remain separate from the Parent App. However, parents can still access them via links within the App.

Email and phone call (direct & personal communication)

The School will continue to use email for direct, student-specific communications. As we transition to using the Parent App, there will be a crossover period where some information (e.g., class excursion details) is communicated both via email and the App.

Future enhancements & consolidation

After thorough research and community feedback, Pulteney has chosen Digistorm as the most suitable communication app for our families. While no platform meets every need, Digistorm is the most widely used and well-supported school communication app among Australian independent schools.

We are working to expand its functionality, including potential integrations for excursion consents, Learning Management Systems, and more. As updates become available, we will continue to enhance the platform.

What is the purpose of the Pulteney Parent App?

The Pulteney Parent App is as a centralised communication platform to provide parents with real-time updates, notices, and school information in an easy-to-access mobile format. The app allows parents to:

  • Receive targeted notices and push notifications relevant to their child(ren)
  • Access the school calendar and co-curricular schedules
  • Report absences
  • Stay up to date with Weekly E-Newsletter (PRW) and other school communications.
  • Access contact directories for staff and key school services

What student information is available in the Parent App?

At present, the only personalised information available about a student is co-curricular details, including:

  • Sport training and match details
  • Team lists
  • Results
  • Cancellations or schedule changes

For academic details, medical information, timetables, and reports, parents should continue to access the Parent Portal

Where can I access my child’s timetable, medical details, or academic reports?

These details are securely stored in the Parent Portal and are not currently available via the Parent App. Parents should log in to the Parent Portal for:

  • Student medical details
  • Timetables
  • Academic reports
  • Contact and family information
  • Excursion consents
  • Fee payments

Do I need to log into Clipboard separately?

No. The Parent App integrates with Clipboard, meaning all co-curricular details—including fixtures, training times, venues, coach details, and team lists—can be accessed directly through the Co-curricular module in the app. Parents do not need to log into Clipboard separately.

How do I customise my app notifications and subscriptions?

By default, all parents are subscribed to all available groups. To refine your selections and receive only relevant notifications:

  1. Open the Parent App and tap ‘More’ (footer of the home screen).
  2. Select ‘Settings’ > ‘Subscriptions’.
  3. Navigate to ‘Year Levels’ and select the appropriate year level(s) for 2025.
    • Selected groups appear navy (on).
    • Deselected groups appear grey (off).
  4. You can also subscribe to additional groups such as Houses, Experiential Learning, and Co-curricular Activities.

How do I enable push notifications?

To ensure you receive timely updates (e.g., sports cancellations due to inclement weather):

  1. In the Parent App, go to ‘Settings’ > ‘Notifications’.
  2. Select ‘Allow Push Notifications’.

Can I delete notices after reading them?

Currently, the app allows notices to be shared but not deleted. We are working with the app developer to explore the option to mark notices as read or delete them in a future update.

Why are notices loading slowly?

Some users have reported slow loading times for notices. We are investigating this with the app developer to identify and resolve any issues.

Why do we still receive emails if we have the app?

As we transition to using the app as the primary communication platform, there will be a crossover period where some communications (e.g., excursion details) are shared both via email and the app. Important communications about your child specifically will continue to be sent via email or phone.

What about learning updates? Where can I see my child’s schoolwork?

Pulteney uses dedicated platforms for student learning:

  • Seesaw (ELC – Year 6) → Class activities, student work, teacher feedback
  • Canvas (Years 7 – 12) → Assignments, grades, continuous reporting

Both Seesaw and Canvas can be accessed via links within the Parent App.

Why does the school use multiple platforms? Can they be consolidated?

A significant amount of research went into selecting the most suitable parent communication app. While no single platform can consolidate all school systems, the Parent App was chosen for its ability to:

  • Reduce reliance on the weekly e-newsletter, PRW for communications
  • Provide targeted, real-time updates
  • Integrate co-curricular schedules from Clipboard

We continue to work towards expanding the app’s functionality, including future potential integrations for excursion consents and Learning Management Systems (Canvas and Seesaw).

Why is my generated password not working?

Some parents have experienced issues when using the generated password. If this happens, please try another password based on the requirements provided. If you are still having trouble logging in, please contact eServices Support  support@pulteney.sa.edu.au>

Why did Pulteney choose the Digistorm Parent App?

Digistorm is the most widely used school communication app in Australia, particularly among independent schools. It offers strong integration capabilities, a secure platform, and ongoing development support, making it the best option for Pulteney’s needs.
