A Pulteney Tradition Worth Celebrating
Every year, The Pulteney Foundation Long Lunch brings our community together for an afternoon of great food, conversation, laughter and connection. It has long been one of the School’s most loved traditions, with many families, Old Scholars, staff, former staff and friends returning year after year to celebrate together.
As we prepare for this year’s Italian Long Lunch on Sunday 13 September, we’ve been looking back through the archives and what a journey it has been!
From Oktoberfest and Dinner en Blanc to Palm Springs, the Wild West and Ski Après, each Long Lunch has had its own unique flavour and personality. The themes may have changed over the years, but one thing has remained constant: the incredible sense of community that defines every event.
You only need to glance through the photos from previous Long Lunches to see familiar faces, genuine smiles and memories made around the table. Some guests embrace the theme wholeheartedly, while others simply enjoy dressing up for a wonderful afternoon out with friends. However they arrive, everyone leaves having shared something special.
For families who are new to Pulteney, this is a wonderful opportunity to experience our community beyond the school gates.
For those who have attended before, you’ll know why so many people say it’s one of the highlights of the Pulteney calendar.
This year’s Italian-inspired celebration promises all the warmth, hospitality and conviviality that Italy is famous for, combined with the unmistakable spirit of Pulteney. Whether you’re planning an afternoon with friends, joining fellow year level parents, hosting a table or meeting new people, we’d love to welcome you.

Help your Class Reps create incredible Long Lunch class baskets!
Help make this year’s Pulteney Foundation Long Lunch silent auction a wonderful success by contributing to your child’s class basket.
This year, supporting your class is even easier. Families can:
- Make a monetary donation online, allowing the organising committee to curate beautiful hampers; or
- Donate an item, with collection baskets available in all ELC and Junior School classrooms.
