The Principal, Term 4 Week 8 2025
Principals Message
As we reach the end of a productive and rewarding academic year, I want to thank you for your support, your care, and the trust you place in our school.
This year, I’ve spent a great deal of time listening, looking, and learning; gaining a deeper appreciation for Pulteney: our strengths, our distinctive identity, and the opportunities that lie ahead. Ours is a thoughtful, passionate, and forward-thinking community. We honour tradition, yet we remain firmly future-focused.
This year highlighted the breadth and depth of Pulteney talent. We realised outstanding gains in NAPLAN across the School, State success in the da Vinci Decathlon, demonstrating exceptional critical and creative thinking. National success in Tournament of Minds, a testament to collaboration, ingenuity, and academic resilience and Prizes in State Mathematics competitions to name a few. We saw a remarkable year in the performing arts, with spectacular productions of Shrek and Urinetown, showcasing the creativity, discipline, and professionalism of our students on stage.
In Sport, it was a year of pride and passion, culminating in the inaugural Intercollegiate Cup against St John’s Grammar School, where the spirit of the Navy Blue was on full display. Epic battles on courts and fields, played with heart, skill, and sportsmanship. Students once again showed they were “comfortable with the uncomfortable” through our expansive and challenging experiential learning programs, embracing adversity, uncertainty, and growth. Our commitment to caring for others remains unwavering. Through service, fundraising, and countless acts of kindness, students demonstrated that they lead not only with their minds, but with their hearts.
To our teachers and operational staff, thank you for your unwavering dedication, hard work, and genuine care you show our students. Your commitment to creating the very best learning environment, one that nurtures curiosity, builds confidence and inspires every learner to reach their potential, is at the heart of all we do. I am grateful for your professionalism, your passion and the kindness you bring to your work each day.
To our parents and families, thank you for your partnership and belief in what your children can achieve. It is a privilege to walk this journey alongside you. I am deeply appreciative of your warm welcome, your support, and the care extended to my family. It has meant a great deal.
As I shared at Speech Night, Pulteney is more than a school.
It is a place of connection and belonging, where young people discover who they are and find the confidence to pursue their passions. We take pride in our 178-year history, our Anglican values, the relationships that shape us and the academic rigour that drives excellence.
What matters most is clear: our students deserve the highest-quality education, delivered by teachers who know them, challenge them and inspire them. As we look ahead to 2026, this remains our unwavering focus.
With Christmas approaching, I wish you and your family a joyful, safe, and restful festive season. Thank you for a wonderful year, and I look forward with excitement to what lies ahead in 2026.
