Sports Updates
Basketball – Term 2 Update
With the majority of Term 2 games now complete for boys’ basketball, it’s great to see overall improvement across all teams. Strong participation and improving results each week have set us up for a promising Term 3 as we head toward finals.
The final game for the term will be played this Tuesday at Pulteney for the Middle A and Senior A teams. We are in a strong position, with most teams sitting in the top half of the ladder across all age groups.
With seven teams competing each Saturday, it highlights the depth and enthusiasm within the boys’ basketball program. Some key highlights include our Senior C team sitting second on the ladder, having lost only one game all term, and our Middle C team also holding second place. With all teams currently placed between 2nd and 5th, there are many positive signs heading into the next term.
Please note that the training schedule for the final week has been reduced as we prepare for the holiday break.
Thank you to everyone for your continued support. We wish you a safe and enjoyable winter break.
Volleyball – Term 2 Update
With both boys’ and girls’ volleyball continuing through Term 2, it’s been another exciting period for the program. Fielding eight teams during the winter season marks a significant increase from last year. For the first time, we also entered a team in the Junior Volley competition held on Friday nights at Brighton. This beginner-level competition has been a valuable stepping stone for our first-time players.
Thanks to growing numbers, we’ve been able to field five boys’ teams and three girls’ teams. Due to age group requirements, many of our girls have played up an age level. While this hasn’t always translated into wins, it has been a fantastic learning experience. The boys’ teams have mostly been placed in suitable divisions, leading to more consistent results.
A standout highlight from Term 2 is our U19 Boys Division 1 team, who currently sit first on the ladder, having lost only one game—and that by a single point.
The schedule for Week 9 will run as normal, with information about next term to be shared soon.
Thank you all for your dedication throughout Term 2. We hope you enjoy a well-deserved break
Pulteney Supports – Breast Cancer Awareness Week (28 July to 3 August)
We are proud to share that Pulteney Grammar School will be joining the Adelaide Combined Schools Sporting Associations in supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Week, taking place from 28 July to 3 August.
This important initiative raises awareness and much-needed funds for the Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA), which provides essential services and support to individuals and families affected by breast cancer across the country.
As part of our commitment:
- All Middle and Senior School students involved in winter co-curricular sport will receive a pair of pink socks, which will be distributed at training in Week 1 of Term 3.
- Students are encouraged to wear their pink socks during all fixtures in Week 2 as a visible sign of unity and support.
- Our grounds staff will mark all Pulteney home venues with pink lines and centre circles to visually reinforce our support for this cause.
These actions reflect our core values of Connection and Belonging, and serve as a powerful reminder of our shared responsibility to stand with others in times of need.
We kindly ask each family to consider making a small donation in lieu of paying for the pink socks, in support of this awareness initiative. Every contribution—no matter the amount—adds to the collective impact of our community.

Thank you for standing with us and helping demonstrate the strength, compassion, and unity of the Pulteney community.
