Josh Holmes was selected to represent South Australia at the 2026 Youth National Archery Championships held in a rainy and windy Launceston from 9 to 13 April 2026.
Competing in the under 18 male recurve division, in the first event of the competition he placed second (scoring a personal best) in the World Archery (WA) 24 Target Field round held at the Paringa Archery Club. He followed up with an impressive 4th place in both the 900 and 720 ranking rounds held at the Churchill Park Sports Complex, also competing in both the individual and mixed doubles matchplay (making it through to the quarter finals in both).
In addition to this Henry Williams competed in the U16 Division. Henry shot his way to victory throughout the tournament securing a spot in the Gold Medal match. Henry came away with the Silver medal for the U16 and U14.
Well done Henry and Josh!

Holiday Camps a Strong Success at Pulteney Grammar School
The recent holiday period saw fantastic engagement across our co-curricular programs, with both volleyball and basketball camps providing valuable opportunities for student development.
Our Volleyball Holiday Camps ran across the second week of the holidays on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, attracting an outstanding group of 40 students. These sessions were designed with a strong focus on skill development, catering to a range of experience levels. Players were immersed in targeted, skill-based training, allowing them to refine their fundamentals in areas such as passing, setting, defence and attacking. The consistent attendance and enthusiasm across all three days created a highly positive learning environment, with students showing noticeable improvement and confidence by the end of the program.
In addition, our senior students took part in a Basketball Mini Camp, which offered a more advanced and holistic approach to preparation ahead of the upcoming season. Across the four-hour session, students engaged in film review, allowing them to analyse gameplay and build a deeper understanding of team structures and decision-making. This was complemented by goal-setting activities, where players identified individual and team objectives for the season. The camp concluded with an on-court training session, bringing the learnings together in a practical setting.
Both programs highlight the strength of our holiday offerings and the commitment of our students to improving their skills outside of the regular season. We look forward to seeing this development translate into strong performances throughout the year.
