Junior Anglican Cup
Last Wednesday some of our Year 5 and 6 students proudly represented Pulteney at the Junior Anglican Cup, hosted by St Peter’s Woodlands. It was a fantastic day of competition, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Our Boys Netball team delivered an outstanding performance, finishing 1st overall after a series of impressive wins. The Girls Netball team demonstrated excellent teamwork and resilience, securing a strong 3rd place. In the Touch Football our team (none of the students had ever played before) played with great structure, finishing a well-earned 2nd place.
Congratulations to all students involved and thank you to the staff and families who supported the teams on the day. We are incredibly proud of the way our students represented Pulteney, both on and off the field
Year 6 Rowing – Extra Come and Try Sessions
The Year 6 Come and Try Rowing program has been a great success, with nearly 40 enthusiastic students taking to the water to learn the fundamentals of rowing technique and boat handling. Boating from the school’s Torrens Boathouse, students have been guided by Pulteney’s rowing coaches, many of whom are recent Old Scholars who bring passion and experience to the program.
Week 5 was scheduled to be the final session and included a BBQ generously prepared by the Bedson family and helpers. However, with interest growing each week, the Thursday afternoon sessions will now continue until the end of term. Students meet the coaches at the Junior School basketball courts at 3.25pm before travelling to the Torrens by bus. Dismissal is at the Torrens at 6.00pm.
The additional sessions are open to all Year 6 students, including those who were unable to participate earlier in the term due to other sporting commitments. Students who are yet to become involved in year 6 rowing please contact rowing@pulteney.sa.edu.au
The Year 6 Come and Try program serves as an excellent introduction to rowing in preparation for Year 7 Rowing in 2026.
