Congratulations

A huge congratulations to Claire C (Y5) on a fabulous achievement at the SAPSASA State Hockey Carnival last week. Claire was selected to represent the North Eastern Metro District and competed at West Beach across three days. Her team went through the carnival undefeated to be crowned District Champions, conceding just one goal across the entire tournament. In an extra special moment, Claire also scored her first-ever goal, which is a fantastic achievement considering she normally plays as a fullback in her club competition. Well done, Claire.

12 years and under State Team trials

If you child is interested in trialling for a 12 and Under State Team in their chosen sport, please visit the SA School Sport website to find more information. Nominations and trials are done externally and are not school based activities.

Rowing

As a part of your child’s transition into Middle School sport next year, our Head of Rowing, Daren Potts, is offering an opportunity for Year 6 students to be involved in an ‘introduction to rowing’ program in Term 4. The aim is to allow students to access and safely engage in an age-appropriate rowing program and be better informed when making selections for next year.

In Term 4, we are offering 5 x ‘Come and Try’ sessions on either a Thursday or Friday from 3.25pm – 6:00pm. Due to an already busy boat shed on a Thursday afternoon, we encourage Year 6 students to attend the Friday session if possible. We understand that a number of students have a clash with other sporting commitments which is why we are offering a Thursday time slot for those unable to make the Friday.

The sessions will run from Week 1 (October 15/16) – Week 5 (November 12/13) at the Pulteney Boat Club (on the Torrens River off Festival Drive).
Students will need to wear their PE uniform. They will be collected from the Prep basketball court after school and be bused to the Boat Club accompanied by coaches. Parents will be required to collect their child from the Pulteney Boat Shed at 6.00pm but are more than welcome to come and watch the sessions.

If your child is interested in attending, please click here to register. Registrations will close on Friday 25 September. Further details will be emailed to families by Daren Potts (Head of Rowing) once numbers are confirmed.
