Senior School, Term 4 Week 3 2026

Term 4 is well underway, and it has been pleasing to see our senior students approach school life with a strong sense of focus, care and responsibility. With our Year 12 students now having farewelled their regular classes, it is wonderful to see our Year 11 students stepping forward and taking on greater responsibility in the life of the Senior School. We also look forward to seeing our Year 9 students take a more active role in the Senior School as they prepare for their transition in 2027. There is much to look forward to in the weeks ahead as our students continue to learn, contribute and make the most of their time at Pulteney.

Friday 23 October: Valedictory Day

Friday was a significant day at Pulteney as we farewelled the Year 12 Class of 2026. The morning began with breakfast for students and staff, followed by a whole-school assembly and a morning tea with parents and guests. The Pulteney community gathered to form a Guard of Honour as the Year 12s walked through the campus, led by the Drum Corps into the Robert Henshall Sports Centre for their Valedictory Service.

Thank you to the Year 12s for the considerate and respectful way they approached the week. Their conduct reflected well on themselves and the School. We wish them all the best in their exams and look forward to seeing them again at Speech Night on Thursday 26 November.

Monday 26 – Friday 30 October: Year 12 SWOTVAC

Year 12 students are now on SWOTVAC and are not required to attend regular classes. However, they are very welcome to be at school to study, meet with teachers, or prepare for exams. Students must wear school uniform at all times while on campus. The sports uniform is not to be worn during this period. Exams commence from Monday 2 November. Please take the time to read the email from Mrs Nadia Maglica, Director of Teaching and Learning, sent on Monday 26 October regarding the Final Preparation and processes for Year 12 examinations.

Senior Art and Design Exhibition – Friday 6 November, 6-8pm

The exhibition celebrates the creativity, skill and artistic achievements of a small selection of our senior students, showcasing a range of works across painting, drawing, fashion design, animation, experimental photography and three-dimensional art. This also includes a significant display of works by Theo Maras to conclude his time at Pulteney, which I think will be a highlight!
The event will be an opportunity to recognise the dedication of our students and their creative practice across our Art and Design programs.
We would be delighted if you are able to join us for the opening evening, to celebrate the students and experience their work firsthand. If you are unable to attend but would like a tour at a different time, please Lauren Sutter so she can arrange to show you through the space.

Week commencing Monday 23 November: Year 11 Exams

Year 11 exams will commence in Week 7. In the lead-up to this, students will take part in sessions during Activate time focused on time management and effective exam preparation. These sessions are designed to help students approach their assessments with confidence and clear strategies for success. The exam timetable will be shared in the coming days to give students sufficient notice and allow them to plan their study and revision appropriately.

Osmond St Cafe

This Friday, our Year 10 Creative Industries students will be selling coffees and other products at the Osmond St Café. Please come along and enjoy a hot drink, some conversation and support our students. I hope to see you there.

Speech Night 2026
Thursday 26 November starting at 7.00pm

Attendance at Speech Night is compulsory for all Year 9, 10, 11 and 12 students, held at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

Students must be dressed in formal winter uniform on the evening and are asked to arrive prior to 6.15pm. On arrival, non-prize winning students are to make their way to the foyer of Halls M&N, where they will be marked off the roll and then seated in their Houses, being supervised by members of staff, before the commencement of the ceremony at 7.00pm.

The evening is expected to conclude by 9.15pm and students can be picked up from then. Please arrange a suitable location for pickup with your child.
If you child is unable to attend the evening, an email to their Head of House must be forwarded to negotiate their non-attendance.

We ask that families please make arrangements around co-curricular commitments and part time work to prioritise this important event in the School’s calendar. There will be no exams on the day of or the next morning after Speech Night to accommodate students’ attendance.

We invite the Pulteney Community to attend and booking can be made HERE. Year 9-12 students do not need to book tickets for the evening.

Prize winning students and all Year 12 students will be required to attend a rehearsal during the day and these details will be communicated soon.
