Senior School, Term 4 Week 2 2026

The Senior School has started Term 4 exceptionally well. It has been pleasing to see students quickly settle back into the rhythm and routine of life at Pulteney. Our Year 10 and 11 students have been particularly impressive in their approach, demonstrating a strong academic focus and a genuine commitment to maintaining positive relationships with both peers and staff.

This is also a special time of year in the Senior School, as our Year 10 and 11 students begin to realise that the celebrations and milestones currently surrounding our Year 12s will soon be theirs to experience. It’s a moment that invites reflection, motivation, and a growing sense of anticipation and gratitude for what lies ahead.

Our Year 12 students are feeling excited as they engage in their final week of classes at Pulteney. Last week, I spoke with the Class of 2026 about the expectations for this important time, reminding them that while celebration is encouraged, it must always be balanced with respect and care for peers, staff, and the School environment. The Year 12s have been excellent role models throughout the year, and I am sure they will continue to represent themselves and the School with pride and maturity during this special final week.

Friday 23 October: Valedictory Day – Celebrating the Class of 2026

Valedictory Day is a cherished Pulteney tradition, a time for students, families, staff, and our wider community to reflect on and celebrate the achievements of our graduating Year 12 cohort.

Please click HERE to view the full schedule of events taking place throughout the day and evening on Friday 23 October, including the student breakfast, Valedictory Assembly, Valedictory Service, and the celebratory drinks and dinner events. The main events for parents are:

  1. Morning Tea & Valedictory Service
Families are warmly invited to attend the Morning Tea and Valedictory Service. We also extend this invitation to grandparents and other family members.
  1. Valedictory Drinks & Student Dinner
All Year 12 students and their families are invited to join us for pre-dinner drinks in the Sam Leaker Courtyard at 5.00 pm, proudly hosted by the Pulteney P&F.
Following the gathering, Year 12 students and staff will continue the celebration at the Valedictory Dinner at the Adelaide Pavilion Function Centre (corner South Terrace & Peacock Road).
  1. Parent Event
While students attend their Valedictory Dinner, parents are warmly invited to a relaxed celebration at Pulteney organised by the Parents & Friends.

We look forward to this special day on the Pulteney calendar.

Summer Uniform Expectations

As we move into the warmer months, it’s a good time to remind families of our summer uniform expectations. Wearing the uniform correctly is an important part of showing pride in our school and fostering a strong sense of belonging among our students.

  • Blazers are not required to be worn to and from school during Terms 1 and 4, except for formal assemblies or official occasions as directed by the Principal, or when the forecast temperature is above 35°C.
  • Soft shell jackets are not to be worn to or from school.
  • Short-sleeve summer shirts should always be tucked in.
  • Hats must be worn during recess, lunch, and outdoor activities in Terms 1 and 4.

We appreciate your support in helping students wear their uniform with pride and continue to represent Pulteney with respect and care.

Osmond St Cafe

This Friday, our Year 10 Creative Industries students will be selling coffees and other products at the Osmond St Café. Please come along and enjoy a hot drink, some conversation and support our students. I hope to see you there.

Speech Night 2026
Thursday 26 November starting at 7.00pm

Attendance at Speech Night is compulsory for all Year 9, 10, 11 and 12 students, held at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

Students must be dressed in formal winter uniform on the evening and are asked to arrive prior to 6.15pm. On arrival, non-prize winning students are to make their way to the foyer of Halls M&N, where they will be marked off the roll and then seated in their Houses, being supervised by members of staff, before the commencement of the ceremony at 7.00pm.

The evening is expected to conclude by 9.15pm and students can be picked up from then. Please arrange a suitable location for pickup with your child.
If you child is unable to attend the evening, an email to their Head of House must be forwarded to negotiate their non-attendance.

We ask that families please make arrangements around co-curricular commitments and part time work to prioritise this important event in the School’s calendar. There will be no exams on the day of or the next morning after Speech Night to accommodate students’ attendance.

Further information regarding  booking tickets will be provided in next week’s PRW.
