Senior School, Term 3 Week 5 2026

As we approach the halfway mark of Term 3, our students are busy engaging in life at Pulteney. Please note the following:

Student Leadership

A reminder that Student Leadership Nominations are due Monday 24 August.

Students are encouraged to speak with their Head of House or myself with any queries. I look forward to reading the applications from students who are aspiring to make a meaningful contribution to our School in a formal leadership role

Tuesday 18 & Thursday 20 August: Intercollegiate Cup

We are excited to compete in the second Winter Intercollegiate Cup against St John’s Grammar on Tuesday 18 and Thursday 20 August, a new tradition that has already become a much-loved fixture in the Pulteney calendar.

More than just a series of matches, the Intercol is an opportunity to bring our whole community together, foster pride and spirit, and show our students what it means to belong to something bigger than themselves. Supervision will be provided by Pulteney staff, and students attending are required to wear their formal uniform, with the blazer as the outer garment.

We warmly encourage families and students to come along, support our teams, and be part of this special new tradition.

Thursday 20 August: Gig @ the Gov

This year’s Gig@theGov theme is Boogie Wonderland! Families are invited to join us on Thursday 20 August at The Gov in Hindmarsh for an evening of fun, food and fantastic music. Students, parents and friends are encouraged to embrace the theme and come dressed in their favourite 1970s attire for what promises to be a wonderful night of community and entertainment. Doors open at 6.00pm, with the show commencing at 6.30pm. Dinner bookings are also available for those wishing to make a full evening of it.I hope to see you there.

Tuesday 1 September and Thursday 3 September: Learning Conferences

Bookings for Learner Conferences on these dates are a combination of online and face to face meetings. We warmly invite families to take part in our upcoming Learning Conferences in Week 7  of this term. These conversations are an important opportunity to connect with teachers, celebrate progress, and work together to support each student’s learning journey.

Year 12 Trial Examinations

Trial examinations are an important step in preparing for final Year 12 assessments. They provide students with a realistic experience of the exam environment, helping to reduce anxiety and identify areas for further study and improvement.

The timetable for the Trial Examinations has now been approved and is below. We encourage all students to review the schedule carefully to prepare effectively and make the most of this valuable opportunity.
