Service of Carols and Lessons

How wonderful it was to have the Carols and Lessons event back on the calendar this year after several years without it. Special thanks to Annie Kwok, Michelle McGill, and Katia Labozzetta for preparing our singing students, Ali O’Connell for preparing the bells players, and to our accompanists Meredith Wilson, Tom Cole and Emma Knights.

How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying Call Backs

I am thrilled to let you all know that the lead role callbacks have now been completed and the panel is currently discussing our options. This year, we truly could have cast the show in several completely different ways. I am hopeful that we will be able to release the final cast list this Friday. If not, it will be early next week. I am so excited about this production and the wonderful cast we have assembled.

Shrek the Musical Jr – Video Link

I am pleased to let everyone know that we have received permission to distribute the video of this production. We hope to have this available by late next week. If this deadline is not achievable, the video will be completed and released as a link to all families of performers by Week 8 this term.

Year 10 & 11 Drama Productions

Congratulations to the Year 10 and Year 11 Drama classes on their wonderful productions completed last week. It was fantastic to see the theatre filled with a supportive and engaged audience.

Our Year 10 students continue to grow in confidence and capability, and it was inspiring to witness their development on stage. The Year 11 students clearly demonstrated just how much growth can occur between Year 10 and Year 11 and their performances were sensational. The comic timing, character work and overall stagecraft were outstanding.

Special thanks to Jamie Hibbert for her creative direction and organisation of the shows, and congratulations once again to all student performers. So well done!

Instrumental Music Program for 2026

From Wednesday this week, the link to secure 1:1 instrumental music and drama lessons will open. Please be aware that some parts of the program do fill quickly, so if you are keen, we encourage you to complete this task as soon as possible. Inevitably, there will be some families who miss out. If you need any assistance, please contact Laura Brougham or me as soon as possible.

R-4 Christmas Concert 2025

This wonderful event is nearly upon us! A letter was sent home to parents of R-4 students last week outlining costume requirements and ticketing details. While the concert is free to attend, tickets will be limited to three per performing child so that everyone in the audience can enjoy a clear view of the stage. Thank you in advance for your understanding and support around this. Tickets can be booked here. Please note that seats are not numbered and access to the venue will be limited to those holding a ticket.

As the concert will take place at 2.00pm, we understand that some parents may find it difficult to attend due to work and other commitments. To ensure everyone can still enjoy the performance, we will be filming the concert and providing a viewing link for families to watch from home. We hope to share this link with parents by early the following week.

Friends of Performing Arts (FoPA) AGM

FoPA will hold their annual general meeting on Thursday 20 November 5.45pm in the War Memorial Boardroom, Allan Wheaton House. We will welcome all current and new members to this event. Even if you do not want to be a member but want to make yourself available for tasks throughout the year, please come along and share a beverage and some cheese. We hope to see the whole committee present. For nomination of positions please see the details below.

All Management Committee positions, and Office Members positions will be open for 2026. If you are interested in becoming a member (Management Committee or Office Bearer) please contact Donna Longden dlongden@bigpond.com for a nomination form.
