Year 5/6 Junior School Musical “Dare to Dream JR”
We are so excited to present the Year 5/6 Junior School Musical Production of Disney’s Dare to Dream JR this week! There are three performances, with some tickets still available for the Wednesday 2.00pm performance (please click here to book your tickets). Both the Wednesday 6.00pm and Thursday 6.00pm performances are SOLD OUT!
Thank you to everyone who has purchased tickets and will be joining us for this very special event. A reminder to please have your ticket ready on arrival, either on a mobile device or as a printed copy. Please ensure your row and seat details are clearly visible so our staff can assist you with seating quickly and efficiently.
Parents and caregivers of Year 5 and Year 6 students were sent an email last week containing important information relating to this week’s production. The same letter was also posted on the Parent App. Please click here to view the letter if you happened to miss it.
Dance Showcase 2026 – WOW!
WOW – what a show! Once again, these dance concerts delivered on every level. The standard of dancing was tremendous, as was the standard of choreography. With over 140 dancers, from Year 1 right through to Year 12, presenting more than two hours of dance across the concerts, it was incredible.
Special thanks to all our Dance tutors and especially Rosy Dobré – our superstar Dance Teacher, whose body of creative work is remarkable, but no surprise! Rosy works incredibly hard to deliver both our academic and co-curricular Dance programs. Her leadership is incredible, and I am so grateful to have Rosy here at Pulteney Grammar School. I know many other schools are envious of the strength of our Dance program, and the wonderful team Rosy leads.
The AV, delivered by Nathan Schubert and Mosaic AV, was spectacular to say the least. The lighting, sound, slickness of the program, and the movement of students on and off stage were all fantastic. The planning and execution of an event like this is huge, with so many moving parts needing to come together on the day. Pulteney has a lot to be thankful for when it comes to our Dance program.
Special thanks also to the Friends of Performing Arts, who provided the bar and BBQ on a cold afternoon and evening. Without their assistance, the wonderful atmosphere and community feel around these events simply would not be the same. It takes a lot of effort and planning to get the food and beverages right, and FoPA delivered once again.
Both concerts sold out, such was the level of interest and support from our community. The feedback I received from so many parents and grandparents on the day was a little overwhelming. I am incredibly proud of what our Performing Arts community can deliver here at Pulteney. It has taken years of hard work from many people to build the technical and creative capacity required to deliver events of this standard.
Most of all, I am especially proud of our students. They were incredible! From our youngest dancers, who are just beginning their dancing journey, through to our most senior students, some of whom have been dancing since they were three or four years of age. It was also wonderful to see some of our Middle and Senior School students taking up Dance for the first time as they continue to build their skills and capacity within our Musical Theatre program.
Congratulations to everyone involved, and special thanks also to Laura Brougham for her continued and incredible work behind the scenes, as well as her work as a Middle School Dance tutor. Fantastic stuff!

Performing Arts Awards Night – Thursday 24 September
Our annual Performing Arts Awards Night is rapidly approaching, and as part of this wonderful evening, I am so pleased to announce that our guest speakers will be “The 60 Four”. They are an incredible group of local singers who now perform around the world and recently featured on the hit TV show “The Voice”.
This year, the Performing Arts Awards Night will be held at school on the 175th Deck and in Wyatt Hall. We will be using external caterers to provide food and beverages, supported by our wonderful Friends of Performing Arts (FoPA) Committee.
The evening is open to all students studying an academic Performing Arts subject in Years 10, 11 and 12, as well as students in Years 9 – 12 who are members of our senior ensembles. This means approximately 90 students are eligible to attend what promises to be a wonderful evening of food, drinks, dancing, awards and fun. Eligible students and their parents were emailed last week with the event details and a link to purchase their ticket, which is $75.00 per person. If you have misplaced your email, please contact Laura Brougham. Tickets must be purchased by this Friday 11 September.
There will be a dance floor and many awards presented throughout the evening as we celebrate the achievements and contributions of our Performing Arts students.
How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying – Movie Night!
We will be holding a special cinema screening of this year’s musical production, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, at the Regal Theatre, Kensington, on Tuesday 22 September. The screening will commence at 7.00pm and will include an interval.

2027 Musical Reveal
Due to unforeseen circumstances, there has been a delay in our traditional and much-anticipated 2027 Musical Production Reveal. We hope to make the announcement soon, however it may need to be delayed until Term 4. We are working hard behind the scenes to get everything in place so we can reveal the 2027 production as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Change to Percussion/Drum Tutor – Term 4
Zac Wachtel has been part of the Music tutor team here at Pulteney for many years. During this time, he has taught drums, led the Junior Percussion Ensemble and had such a positive influence on his students and the wider Performing Arts team.
Zac has also been a musician with the Royal Australian Navy Reserve Band for many years and has recently secured a position with the full-time Navy Band based in Sydney. Zac will be moving to Sydney after this term to take up this amazing opportunity, and while we are sad to see him go, we are incredibly excited for him and wish him every success with this next chapter.
Zac is a wonderful person, musician and teacher, and he will be greatly missed by us all. He has also regularly performed alongside some of our senior Music students and, most recently, stepped in at the last moment to play with several of our performing groups at Gig@theGov, which is another wonderful example of Zac’s generosity and the quality person he is.
Fortunately, Toby Lang has agreed to step in and take over Zac’s teaching load. Toby will meet the students next week before officially commencing from Week 1 of Term 4. We warmly welcome Toby to our Performing Arts community and look forward to having him as part of the team.
Instrumental Music and Drama Program
Pulteney’s Performing Arts Department offers private tuition for a range of instruments as well as voice and drama lessons.
Applications for this year opened in December 2025 and have been finalised, however students from Reception right through to Year 12 can enrol at any time across the year. If an instrument, type of lesson or teacher is already fully booked, we can place your child on a waiting list until a lesson becomes available.
