Winter Music Festival 2026
Thank you to all those who were able to join us last Friday evening for the Winter Cabaret and on Saturday for the three Winter Music Festival concerts.
With more than 260 students performing across the four concerts, and many hundreds of parents, family members and friends attending, it was a wonderful celebration of music, community and student achievement.
Special thanks to all our student performers, many of whom were involved in two or even three concerts and performed as members of multiple ensembles and choirs. Thank you also to our ensemble directors and accompanists. Preparing so many groups to such a high standard is no easy feat, particularly so soon after the musical production just two weeks earlier.
I cannot thank the Friends of Performing Arts (FoPA) parents enough for their time and effort in running the BBQ and bars across all four events. Once again, coming so soon after the musical production, their commitment and support were extraordinary. This group of people truly are the finest Friends of Performing Arts committee I have worked with in my 42-year career.
I would also like to thank the Pulteney Maintenance Team, Mosaic AV and Nathan Schubert for all their work behind the scenes to ensure a positive and exciting performance experience for our students.
It was particularly special to have several Old Scholars join us, along with several of our music tutors, for the performance of Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A minor. Lucas Truong performed magnificently as soloist, and it was a privilege to present this work with and for him.
We are incredibly proud of all that was achieved over the weekend and look forward to the exciting opportunities and performances that await our students in 2027.

Year 10 & 11 Drama Production
We are once again excited to be presenting the Year 10 and Year 11 Drama classes at the Holden St Theatre venue. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to work in a professional theatrical space and to develop their craft.
The Year 10 students will first stage the dramatic play This Changes Everything, written by Joel Horwood. Partly inspired by Lord of the Flies, the play explores what happens when a group of idealistic teenagers, disillusioned with the world, leave and form their own community on an isolated oil rig.
After a brief interval, the Year 11 students will present the original comedy Bridal Party Breakdown. At a busy wedding reception, the bridal party take refuge in a hotel room. The wedding festivities unravel when they discover a massive secret about the groom, turning the celebration into a hilarious and heartfelt emotional storm.
Tickets are $10.00. Please secure your ticket via Humanitix: https://events.humanitix.com/pulteney-grammar-school-year-10-and-11-drama-production-evening
