Year 10 (2027) Subject Selection Conversations

This week, we welcome our current Year 9 families to the 2027 Year 10 Subject Selection Conversations. These sessions will take place on Thursday and Friday on the ground floor of the Graham Lange Centre.

During their appointment, each student will meet with their Head of House to discuss and confirm their subject selections for 2027. Parents and caregivers are warmly encouraged to book an appointment if they would like to join this important conversation with their child.

Appointment times are available as follows:

Thursday 13 August 2026

• Session 1: 8.30am–10.20am
• Session 2: 2.00pm–4.50pm

Friday 14 August 2026

• Session 1: 8.30am–10.20am
• Session 2: 1.10pm–3.20pm

Year 7 2027 Parent Information Evening

On Tuesday 18 August, from 6.00pm to 7.30pm, we look forward to welcoming our 2027 Year 7 parents and caregivers to a Cheese and Wine Information Evening at Pulteney Grammar School.

This session is designed to support families as their child prepares to enter Year 7 and the Middle School in 2027.

Families will hear from key Middle School staff, who will introduce Pulteney’s House system and explain how we foster connection, wellbeing and personal growth through our pastoral care approach. We will also provide insight into class structures and the support available to students throughout their transition into Year 7.

This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the Middle School experience and connect with other families in the 2027 cohort.

Cheese and wine will be served on arrival. This is a parent and caregiver-only event. Please RSVP using the details provided in your invitation.

Year 8 Learning Beyond the Classroom: AMPout and Camp

Next week marks the beginning of two important Learning Beyond the Classroom experiences for our Year 8 students: AMPout and the Year 8 Camp in Robe.A defining element of the Year 8 experience, AMPout is an immersive program that takes learning into authentic community and civic settings. AMP stands for Act with Meaning and Purpose.

Throughout the program, students engage with guest speakers and professionals, visit institutions such as Parliament House and the Magistrates Court, and participate in workshops that develop their skills in collaboration, advocacy and public communication.

Working in teams, students explore significant issues, consider multiple perspectives and develop a mock Bill to present to an audience. This process challenges them to listen carefully, think critically and support their ideas with evidence.AMPout reflects the growing maturity of our Year 8 learners. It encourages them to step forward, contribute thoughtfully and recognise how their learning can positively influence the world around them.

Beginning next week, AMPout and the Year 8 Camp in Robe operate simultaneously across two weeks. Houses will rotate between the experiences ensuring every Year 8 student participates in both programs.

We wish all our Year 8 students a safe, rewarding and memorable experience as they learn beyond the classroom, strengthen their connections and embrace new challenges.

Long Lunch Class Basket Donations

• Make a monetary donation online, allowing the organising committee to curate beautiful hampers; or
• Donate an item, with collection baskets available in all ELC and Junior School classrooms.
