Middle School, Term 2 Week 10 2026

At our final Middle School Assembly for the term last Thursday, we had the pleasure of presenting our Semester 1 Academic Merit Awards to students across Years 7 to 9 in each subject area.

Congratulations to all students who received an award. These achievements recognise not only academic success, but also the qualities that underpin meaningful learning: commitment, application, curiosity, diverse thinking, positive study habits and a willingness to engage deeply with new ideas and challenges.

To all Middle School students, I encourage you to continue refining and expanding your approach to learning. Be brave in exploring different learning techniques and strategies. Build confidence in your abilities, strive for a thorough understanding of concepts and never be afraid to ask questions. Learning is a journey of growth, and often our greatest progress comes when we challenge ourselves to think differently and embrace new approaches.

As you receive your Semester 1 reports, take the opportunity to reflect on your achievements, challenges and areas for growth. Over the holiday break, I encourage you to establish one clear goal for Semester 2 that will help personalise your learning journey and support your continued development. Your Head of House, Tutor and subject teachers are all here to guide and support you in achieving this goal.

I wish all Middle School families a wonderful semester break. I hope it provides an opportunity to rest, recharge and spend quality time together. I look forward to welcoming our students back for Semester 2 and continuing our journey of learning, growth and discovery together.

Friday 27 June: Coffee in The Lane
This Friday offers a final chance this term to connect informally with other Pulteney families. Come along and enjoy a performance by our students and take the opportunity to share a coffee and conversation. We hope to see you there.

Friday 27 June: Assembly
To close the term, we will gather for a final School Assembly. This will be a time to acknowledge and celebrate the many achievements of the semester. Students are asked to wear their formal uniform, including blazer, on this day.

Wednesday 29 July: Swimming Carnival

We are looking forward to the Senior School Swimming Carnival on Wednesday of Week 2, Term 3. The carnival is always a highlight of the school calendar, providing students with an opportunity to represent their House, build House spirit, and contribute to the strong sense of community that exists within the Senior School.

The day offers a range of opportunities for students to participate, whether through competitive swimming events, novelty activities, House challenges, or by supporting and encouraging their peers. We encourage all students to become involved and contribute to the positive atmosphere that makes the carnival such an enjoyable occasion.

As a normal school day and an important whole-school event, attendance at the Swimming Carnival is expected for all students.

Long Lunch Class Basket Donations

Help make this year’s Pulteney Foundation Long Lunch silent auction a wonderful success by contributing to your child’s class basket.
This year, supporting your class is even easier. Families can:
  • Make a monetary donation online, allowing the organising committee to curate beautiful hampers; or
  • Donate an item, with collection baskets available in all ELC and Junior School classrooms.
Every contribution, big or small, is greatly appreciated and helps raise valuable funds for our School community.
Donations close Friday 17 July.
Looking for inspiration? Popular basket themes include gourmet kitchen, gardening, BBQ & entertaining, children’s gifts, premium tea & coffee, chocolates and beauty products.
