Junior School, Term 4 Week 2 2026

Year 5-6 Transition

On Friday 13 November, Year 5s will be returning from camp at about 3.00pm. From 2.15pm that afternoon, Year 5 parents are invited to attend an information session in the Chapel regarding Year 6. This session will cover information regarding the Bring Your Own Device Laptop program and the Canberra camp experience.

This session will conclude in time for Year 5 camp pick up.

Class Requests

One of the key tasks for preparing for 2027 is the formulation of class lists. If you have any requests regarding your child’s class placement for next year, please email me at Jason.fay@pulteney.sa.edu.au

It is important to note that not all requests can be accommodated and requests for teachers are not taken into consideration.

2027 Year 6 Jackets

Year 5 families are asked to see Kass Woods at the Junior School admin desk from Thursday to place an order for Year 6 jackets that are given to Year 5s later in the term. All orders will need to be in by Monday of Week 3. Jackets will be available to try on to ascertain the correct size.  If you have any questions, please see Kass.

Nature Market

On Friday 20 November we will have our final Nature Market for the year. This semester, the Reception – Year 2 children, and the Year 6s, will be selling their items. Year. The market will operate between 8.45am and 10.00am. One of the key ideas behind the Nature Market is sustainability.

We know that in the past there have been families who have sold products such as sauces and preserves etc. If you would like to be involved, please email Kass Woods at Kass.woods@pulteney.sa.edu.au

We ask that any stall requests reflect the theme of sustainability and recognise that most customers on the day will be children.

The Junior School Nature Markets provide an opportunity for the children to be involved in an event that promotes not only sustainability, but entrepreneurial skills and an understanding of the basic financial skills of selling items for a profit or a loss. The Junior School Nature Market is also an opportunity for the children to delve deeper into making and designing a product that they can make and sell. Products will be made from reusable and sustainable items. With the cost associated with the products kept to a minimum.

As the Junior School Nature Market is an opportunity for the children to raise money for a worthy cause, children are able to bring items from home to sell on the day, as well as what they sell from their class.

Examples of items to be brought in from home:

•              Propagated plants.
•              Home-made items – please ensure items are clearly labelled with ingredients and do not contain nuts.
•              Home grown produce, such as fruit and vegetables.
•              No products with excessive sugar are to be brought in, such as lollies, or drinks.

Choral Concert: Singing for Learning and Life

Yesterday we held the annual Choral Concert for all choirs from Reception to Year 12. This is an informal concert to demonstrate to our families the passage of development and work from Reception to our most Senior students, and the opportunity for all choirs to perform.

The afternoon featured the following choirs, on order of age and development:

  • Junior Kurrajong Choir: directed by Narelle Steffan, with piano accompaniment by Meredith Wilson
  • Junior Year 3/4 Concert Choir: directed by Michelle McGill, with piano accompaniment by Emma Knights
  • Junior Year 5/6 Concert Choir: directed by Michelle McGill, with piano accompaniment by Meredith Wilson
  • ManChoir: directed by Annie Kwok, with piano accompaniment by Meredith Wilson
  • Grammarphones Choir: directed by Annie Kwok, with piano accompaniment by Meredith Wilson
  • Jazz on the Terrace 2: directed by Katia Labozzetta, with piano accompaniment by Tom Cole
  • Senior Concert Choir: directed by Annie Kwok, with piano accompaniment by Meredith Wilson

We foster an environment of confidence in performance, being expressive, understanding different stylistic requirements and presenting as part of a collective team. In addition, each choir shows the development of intonation, aural accuracy, tone production, connection of music to language, part-singing and movement. We have an exceptionally successful Junior and Senior Musical Production program, as well as small feature ensembles and vocal opportunities – these all grown from the experience and confidence gained from these foundational choirs. We thank our choral directors and piano players for their wonderful work inspiring our students.

Full Circle Theatre Co. – “Catch Me If You Can”

Congratulations to three members of our Pulteney community who have been cast in Full Circle Theatre Co.’s inaugural production of Catch Me If You Can! Addi Schwartz and Madi Schubert are both Pulteney Old Scholars and current Dance Tutors, while Patrick Longden is our current School Captain.

Adding to the excitement, Full Circle Theatre Co. was founded by our very own Musical Director, Jo Casson! As Adelaide’s first music theatre company dedicated to presenting professional local musical productions, Full Circle Theatre Co. is all about showcasing the incredible talent of South Australian artists and theatre makers, creating productions for South Australian audiences.

Don’t miss out on seeing this wonderful production in full flight!! Tickets come in First Class, Business Class, and Economy — something for every budget with all the quality of a professional show but half the price of a big touring production.

You can expect a full onstage band, sweeping big-band orchestrations, and a story that’s equal parts high-stakes chase and coming-of-age tale — brought to life by a cast and creative team of exceptional South Australian talent. This is a fabulous musical comedy with incredible music inspired by The Rat Pack and written by the same team who wrote Hairspray!

Tickets are ON SALE NOW!
