It’s show week! We are very excited to see what Mrs McGill and the Year 5/6 children have been preparing for us. Three performances over two days will feet tapping and energy buzzing. Chookas to all involved.
There are three performances, with some tickets still available for the Wednesday 2.00pm performance (please click here to book your tickets). Both the Wednesday 6.00pm and Thursday 6.00pm performances are SOLD OUT!
Thank you to everyone who has purchased tickets and will be joining us for this very special event. A reminder to please have your ticket ready on arrival, either on a mobile device or as a printed copy. Please ensure your row and seat details are clearly visible so our staff can assist you with seating quickly and efficiently.
Parents and caregivers of Year 5 and Year 6 students were sent an email last week containing important information relating to this week’s production. The same letter was also posted on the Parent App. Please click here to view the letter if you happened to miss it.
Please note due to the musical there will be no rehearsals for Year 3-4 Concert Choir on Wednesday 9 September and Year 5-6 Concert Choir on Thursday 10 September.
Dance Showcase
From our youngest dancers taking their first steps into the world of dance to our more experienced performers, the talent, enthusiasm and confidence on stage were truly wonderful to see at the Dance Showcase on the weekend. Every student should be incredibly proud of the skills they have developed and the joy they brought to their performances.
Congratulations to our amazing Junior School dancers. It was an absolute delight to watch them take to the stage with such confidence, energy and pride. For many, this is just the beginning of their dance journey, and we look forward to watching them continue to grow, flourish and share their love of dance.
School Closure – Show Day
A reminder that this Friday 11 September is a pupil-free day. We hope our students and families enjoy the opportunity to pause and recharge before returning refreshed for the remainder of the term.
Friday 18 September: RU OK? Day and World’s Greatest Shave School Fundraiser
On Friday of Week 9 there will be a “splash of yellow” casual clothes day with a $2 donation.
We encourage all students get involved on the day to help raise funds and awareness of the RU OK? Foundation and the Leukaemia Foundation. Our Middle and Senior School students will also take part in the Greatest Shave. All funds collected on the day will be donated to the RU OK? Foundation, and to the Leukaemia Foundation.
There are some guidelines that students need to adhere to, mostly due to health and safety requirements. Please refer to the following so that it can be an enjoyable and safe day for all:
- Shoulders must be covered (i.e. no strapless or singlet tops to be worn)
- Slogans and logos must not be offensive
- Shoes must cover feet properly (i.e. no thongs or ugg-boots)
- No heavy make-up (as per normal School expectations)
- Different jewellery may be worn, but still only one set of earrings
- Long hair must be tied back (as per normal School expectations)
- The day is not a costume or dress-up day ie. no ‘onesies’, no pyjamas
If your child has PE on the day, they are still expected to wear appropriate clothes for exercising in, although this may be non-PE uniform sports clothes. We look forward to an enjoyable day whilst raising important funds.

How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying – Movie Night!
We will be holding a special cinema screening of this year’s musical production, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, at the Regal Theatre, Kensington, on Tuesday 22 September. The screening will commence at 7.00pm and will include an interval.

Change to Percussion/Drum Tutor – Term 4
Zac Wachtel has been part of the Music tutor team here at Pulteney for many years. During this time, he has taught drums, led the Junior Percussion Ensemble and had such a positive influence on his students and the wider Performing Arts team.
Zac has also been a musician with the Royal Australian Navy Reserve Band for many years and has recently secured a position with the full-time Navy Band based in Sydney. Zac will be moving to Sydney after this term to take up this amazing opportunity, and while we are sad to see him go, we are incredibly excited for him and wish him every success with this next chapter.
Zac is a wonderful person, musician and teacher, and he will be greatly missed by us all. He has also regularly performed alongside some of our senior Music students and, most recently, stepped in at the last moment to play with several of our performing groups at Gig@theGov, which is another wonderful example of Zac’s generosity and the quality person he is.
Fortunately, Toby Lang has agreed to step in and take over Zac’s teaching load. Toby will meet the students next week before officially commencing from Week 1 of Term 4. We warmly welcome Toby to our Performing Arts community and look forward to having him as part of the team.
Instrumental Music and Drama Program
Pulteney’s Performing Arts Department offers private tuition for a range of instruments as well as voice and drama lessons.
Applications for this year opened in December 2025 and have been finalised, however students from Reception right through to Year 12 can enrol at any time across the year. If an instrument, type of lesson or teacher is already fully booked, we can place your child on a waiting list until a lesson becomes available.
