Books, Brilliance and Big Dreams
What a packed few weeks it has been at Pulteney Junior School! Our Book Week celebrations were a wonderful reminder of the joy, imagination and possibility that books bring to our lives. A very special thank you to our wonderful librarians, Ms Buenfeld, Miss Scheurleer and Mrs Hume for the creativity, energy and enthusiasm they poured into the Book Week events and parade. From the fantastic activities throughout the week to the spectacular costumes on parade, they created experiences that celebrated a genuine love of reading. We also congratulate our children for embracing the spirit of the week and dressing up with such enthusiasm and creativity. A huge thank you to our parents and families who joined us for the Book Week Assembly. Your presence made the celebration even more special!
We also extend our heartiest congratulations to our Tournament of Minds teams on their outstanding achievements. Their success in winning the state competition is a reflection of creativity, collaboration, problem-solving, persistence and the courage to think differently. Now they are off to Darwin. A special thank you to the staff, Mrs Mav and Mrs Lee who supported, encouraged and challenged our students throughout the Tournament of Minds journey. Their commitment to developing young people who are curious, creative and willing to tackle complex problems is something we should all celebrate.
And finally, the excitement is building as we look ahead to next Wednesday and Thursday, when our Year 5 and 6 students take to the stage for our Junior School musical, Dare to Dream. This promises to be a wonderful celebration of talent, courage, creativity and teamwork. Our children and staff have been working incredibly hard, and we cannot wait to see their efforts come together on stage. Dare to Dream is a fitting title for a production that celebrates what can happen when young people are given the opportunity to imagine, create and believe in what is possible. We look forward to welcoming our families and friends to what promises to be two very special evenings.

Please note the following updates:
Week 7
- Junior Year 5/6 Dance Troupe BLUE will not have Dance class before school on Wednesday 3 September. Instead, they will rehearse on Friday 4 September from 7.30-8.30am as part of the technical rehearsal
- Junior Year 4 Dance Troupe will not have Dance class before school on Thursday 3 September. Their rehearsal will take place on Thursday 3 September from 3.20-4.45pm as part of the technical rehearsal. Parents/caregivers are asked to collect their child from the Junior School basketball court at 4.45pm
Week 8
- Friday 11 September: Year 5/6 Dance Troupe WHITE, Junior Percussion Ensemble & Junior Handbell Ensemble cancelled due to School Student Free Day
Pulteney Dance Showcase
This weekend we present our annual Pulteney Dance Showcase on Saturday 5 September in Wyatt Hall. If you haven’t bought your tickets, do it NOW! This is a ticketed event, and tickets will not be available for purchase at the door. The Matinee Performance has already sold over 85% and the Evening Performance has sold over 97%.
Adult tickets cost $20.00 each. Non-performing students are welcome to attend free of charge. Please note that children aged 4 and above will require their own ticket, and we kindly ask that children 3 and under sit on a parent or caregiver’s lap. Performing students do not need a ticket. If your child is performing in both concerts, you will need to purchase tickets to both. Please click on the following links or scan the QR code in the poster below.

The Friends of Performing Arts will again be providing a BBQ sausage sizzle and bar between the two concerts. We warmly invite everyone to stay, enjoy a meal and a drink, and spend time with our Performing Arts community from approximately 5.00pm to 7.00pm. A bar service will also be available during the interval of both concerts. My sincere thanks to all the FoPA members for their time, effort and wonderful support.
Year 5/6 Junior School Musical “Dare to Dream JR” – Ticket Information
We are getting very excited about our upcoming Year 5/6 Junior School Musical, Dare to Dream JR! Performed in Wyatt Hall, there will be three performances:
- Wednesday 9 September, 2.00pm Show
- Wednesday 9 September, 6.00pm Show
- Thursday 10 September, 6.00pm Show
Tickets for the 6.00pm shows on Wednesday 9 September and Thursday 10 September are SOLD OUT! This is a ticketed event, and tickets will not be available for purchase at the door. Seating is allocated and will be checked upon entrance to the show.

How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying – Movie Night!
We will be holding a special cinema screening of this year’s musical production, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, at the Regal Theatre, Kensington, on Tuesday 22 September. The screening will commence at 7.00pm and will include an interval.
