Junior School, Term 3 Week 10 2026

As we come to the end of another busy and rewarding term, it is wonderful to reflect on the many achievements, experiences, and learning opportunities our students have embraced from Reception to Year 6. Throughout the term, our classrooms have been filled with creativity, and enthusiasm as students engaged deeply in their learning. Across all year levels, children have been challenged to think critically, collaborate with their peers, and develop new skills that will support them both now and into the future. It has been inspiring to see students demonstrate resilience, independence, and a genuine love of learning as they tackled new concepts and explored meaningful inquiries.

Beyond the classroom, students have enjoyed a wide range of enriching experiences including excursions, camps, sporting events, performances, and special celebrations. These opportunities have helped foster a strong sense of belonging within our school community.

We had a very successful day on R U OK Day, with the bake sale being a real highlight. We welcome back our Year 6 students and their teachers from Canberra. Thanks to the many staff who attended and supported this amazing experience.

We wish our Year 3 and 4 students all the best as they head off to camp in the last week of term. We look forward to hearing about their amazing adventures.

I do wish all families a safe, restful, and enjoyable break from school routines, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back ready for another wonderful term of learning.

Year 6 Educational Tour to Canberra 2026

Last week 73 Year 6 students accompanied by eight adults spent a wonderful week in Canberra solidifying the knowledge and understanding they had built up back at school this term, around the beginning of a nation, Australia, and Federal Governance in Australia. After a very early 6am arrival at the Adelaide airport Monday morning we hit the ground running. The cohort were involved in guided tours of Old Parliament House concentrating on the electoral process, as well as discussion and research about People Power and Making Change at the Museum of Australian Democracy. Over the next four days we visited, and were lucky enough to be guided through, The National Capital Exhibition, the Australian Institute of Sport, Australian War Memorial, National Archives of Australia, National Arboretum, Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex, Mount Ainslie, National Museum of Australia, National Film and Sound Archive of Australia, National Portrait Gallery and Parliament House where the Politicians were actually there sitting. We also fitted in a night time session at Questacon as well as a fun session of ten pin bowling. To finish the week off we spent time being shown through Government House and driving past and identifying the many Embassies located in Canberra. The trip was a great success. The students represented the school, their families and themselves superbly – they were a credit to us all. We received many positive comments from the venues we visited, the Qantas staff and the general public about our smart Year 6 jacket and our formal uniform, behaviour, manners, knowledge and engagement. A busy but rewarding Educational Tour was had by all.

The behaviour in the Senate was worse than that in our classrooms at times!!” Sascha

The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. To assist families in meeting the cost of the excursion the Australian Government is contributing funding of $90.00 per student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate program (PACER) towards those costs. The rebate is paid directly to the School upon completion of the excursion.

How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying – Movie Night!

We hope you will join us TONIGHT for a special cinema screening of this year’s musical production, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, at the Regal Theatre, Kensington. The screening will commence at 7.00pm and will include an interval.

Performing Arts Management Term 4

The incredibly high-performing Annie Kwok will manage Middle and Senior School Performing Arts, while Michelle McGill will manage the Junior School. Laura Brougham will also be here to assist wherever needed.

A special thought goes to our graduating Year 12 Performing Arts students. These amazing young people have worked incredibly hard and given so much to our Performing Arts community over many years. I look forward to acknowledging and thanking them this Thursday night at the 2026 Performing Arts Awards Night.

At this wonderful event, we will hear from our Principal, our current Performing Arts Captains, myself, and our special guest speakers, The 60 Four. Fresh from their television appearance on The Voice, as well as recently returning from two weeks of performing in Scotland, we cannot wait to hear them sing for us before they deliver their guest address.

It promises to be a wonderful evening of celebration, recognition and thanks, particularly for our graduating Year 12 students.

I wish you all a wonderful Term 4, a very Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year. I will return to work on Monday 18 January 2027.

Choral Concert (Week 2, Term 4)

Save the Date! On Monday 19 October we will be presenting our annual Choral Concert in the Chapel from 4.00-5.15pm.

Please note the following special requirements:

• Students have been released from Monday afternoon sport co-curriculars; please ensure coaches are aware
• Normal school uniform – no formal uniform. PE uniform is fine if students have the lesson or related co-curricular during the day
• This concert has been placed specifically to support Year 12 House Dinners in Week 1 and Week 2

No tickets are required for this event. Simply come along and enjoy a wonderful afternoon celebrating our talented Pulteney choirs.

Instrumental Music and Drama Program

Pulteney’s Performing Arts Department offers private tuition for a range of instruments as well as voice and drama lessons.

Applications for this year opened in December 2025 and have been finalised, however students from Reception right through to Year 12 can enrol at any time across the year. If an instrument, type of lesson or teacher is already fully booked, we can place your child on a waiting list until a lesson becomes available.
