Junior School, Term 2 Week 3 2026

Thank you to the families that joined us for our first assembly of the term on Friday. There were some fantastic performances from our bands and musicians, and this is vital to the development of these performers as they develop confidence in front of large and receptive audiences. All parents and families are most welcome to join us for each assembly on the respective Friday mornings. Why not join us for coffee in the quad before school and join us for assembly straight after?

Nature Market

On Friday 19 June, Week 9, we will have the first of our two Nature Markets for the year. This Year, Year 3-6 classes will set up stalls in June, whilst the R-2 classes will set stalls up in November. The market will operate between 8.45am and 10.00am. One of the key ideas behind the Nature Market is sustainability.

We know that in the past there have been families who have sold products such as sauces and preserves etc. If you would like to be involved, please email Kass Woods at Kass.woods@pulteney.sa.edu.au

We ask that any stall requests reflect the theme of sustainability and recognise that most customers on the day will be children.

The Junior School Nature Markets provide an opportunity for the children to be involved in an event that promotes not only sustainability, but entrepreneurial skills and an understanding of the basic financial skills of selling items for a profit or a loss. The Junior School Nature Market is also an opportunity for the children to delve deeper into making and designing a product that they can make and sell. Products will be made from reusable and sustainable items. With the cost associated with the products kept to a minimum.

As the Junior School Nature Market is an opportunity for the children to raise money for a worthy cause, children are able to bring items from home to sell on the day, as well as what they sell from their class.

Examples of items to be brought in from home:

  • Propagated plants.
  • Home-made items – please ensure items are clearly labelled with ingredients and do not contain nuts.
  • Home grown produce, such as fruit and vegetables.
  • No products with excessive sugar are to be brought in, such as lollies, or drinks.

House T-Shirts

We are excited to announce that House t-shirts are now available for purchase in the uniform shop for Junior School children. This is a new initiative to strengthen House identity in the Junior School.

House teams at Pulteney Grammar School play a vital role in fostering belonging, connection and wellbeing across the school community. By bringing children together across year levels, Houses create a sense of identity that extends beyond the classroom, allowing younger children to feel known and supported while older students develop leadership and mentorship skills. This vertical structure strengthens relationships, builds trust and promotes a culture where every student feels they have a place.

Through shared experiences—whether in sport, service, arts or friendly competition—Houses allow children develop meaningful peer connections and a collective sense of pride. These moments of connection are critical for wellbeing, as they enhance social confidence, emotional security and engagement in school life. In essence they are supportive communities, within a supportive community.

Please note these House tops cannot be worn in place of the normal P.E uniform. House colours can only be worn on:

  • Sports Day and Sports Day trials
  • Other special sport events such as Cross Country
  • Camps and casual days
  • Special House Days (Wellbeing, Sport, Music etc)
  • Party Day

Families will always be notified by their class teacher or the Pulteney App in advance if House colours can be worn.
