Junior School, Term 2 Week 2 2026
Well done to everyone for their efforts at the Cross Country event last week and good luck to those who will now represent the school at District Cross Country next week.
Our first Junior School Assembly of the term is this Friday. We look forward to hearing our Year 3 Strings and Year 5 Band Program perform for us all. Everyone is welcome to join us at 8.45am in Wyatt Hall.
To help ensure students are well prepared, all Year 3 and Year 5 students are asked to meet in the Nicholls Building(String Room Year 3) and (Band Room Year 5) between 8.15am and 8.30am to set up their instruments ahead of the performance.
House T-Shirts
We are excited to announce that House t-shirts are now available (although stock is curranty limited and more is on order) for purchase in the uniform shop for Junior School children. This is a new initiative to strengthen House identity in the Junior School.
House teams at Pulteney Grammar School play a vital role in fostering belonging, connection and wellbeing across the school community. By bringing children together across year levels, Houses create a sense of identity that extends beyond the classroom, allowing younger children to feel known and supported while older students develop leadership and mentorship skills. This vertical structure strengthens relationships, builds trust and promotes a culture where every student feels they have a place.
Through shared experiences—whether in sport, service, arts or friendly competition—Houses allow children develop meaningful peer connections and a collective sense of pride. These moments of connection are critical for wellbeing, as they enhance social confidence, emotional security and engagement in school life. In essence they are supportive communities, within a supportive community.
Please note these House tops cannot be worn in place of the normal P.E uniform. House colours can only be worn on:
- Sports Day and Sports Day trials
- Other special sport events such as Cross Country
- Camps and casual days
- Special House Days (Wellbeing, Sport, Music etc)
- Party Day
Families will always be notified by their class teacher or the Pulteney App in advance if House colours can be worn.
Update: Kurrajong Building internal fence installation
Further to our previous communications, installation of the internal coded fence within the Kurrajong Building will commence this weekend (Saturday 2 May), with part or all of the fence expected to be in place by Monday 4 May.
Access codes will be shared with ELC families as soon as possible, which may be following completion of the installation. Staff will be available on Monday morning to assist with access and any questions.
As previously advised, this is an ELC-specific safety measure; however, Reception to Year 2 families who have previously used the back/southern stairs, will now need to use either the elevator or the western/kiss and drop stairs.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
