Junior School, Term 1 Week 7 2026

Junior School Sports Day

What a stunning day Friday turned out to be for the Junior School Athletics Carnival. Thank you to all of the families and friends who turned out to support the children. It was fabulous to see so many people in attendance and it made for a special atmosphere. The children gave it their all, even as the temperature rose. There were some special individual performances across the day, but it was the team spirit and sportsmanship that stood out most of all. Congratulations to Bleby-Howard on winning the overall event, and to Cawthorne-Nicholls on winning the Bill Davis Spirit Cup

A huge thank you to our P&F volunteers for their work in the BBQ tent. It is not easy catering for an event of this size but the food and service was of an incredibly high standard. Thank you to everyone who gave up their time to keep us all well fed. If you are considering volunteering more of your time at Pulteney Grammar, please reach out to the P&F. Middle School leaders also volunteered their time to support their House teams and their assistance in running events ensured that the schedule was on time.

Finally, thank you to the staff. The grounds team ensured the facilities and fields were prepared perfectly. Their work, so often invisible, was crucial to the success of the day. The Junior School PE Department; Ben Searle, Anna Zerillo, Matt King and Kylie Savva have worked with children and teachers since the beginning of the year to prepare for the day. Their leadership of the day cannot be highlighted enough. Particular thanks also to Michelle McGill, Rosie Dobre, Rev Paul Harris and Mark Bourchier for their special support on the day. Added to all of this, the investment from all classroom teachers, ancillary staff and specialist teachers complemented this work completely. All in all, it was fantastic team effort.

Junior School Physical Education Swimming Program

As part of the Junior School Physical Education program, children in Years 1 to Year 4 will participate in four 1-hour swimming sessions from Tuesday 24 March through to Friday 27 March (Week 9) at the indoor heated swimming complex at Immanuel College, Novar Gardens. Children will travel to and from Immanuel by bus accompanied by Pulteney teaching staff and parent volunteers.

On the days your child has swimming, they will need to:

  • Wear bathers underneath sports uniform
  • Bring a swimming bag with towel, goggles, drink bottle and underwear.
  • Bring school bag as normal with recess and lunch.

Please click here to consent for the swimming session, and also complete the form for ISWIM here by Wednesday 18 March 2026.

Chinese Singing Club

Students from Reception to Year 6 are invited to join the Chinese Singing Club in Term 2 and Term 4! Sessions will be held every Friday at lunchtime in the Mandarin classroom. The club is limited to 30 students, so places are first come, first served.

The club is a fun and engaging way for students who love music to enhance their Chinese language skills through singing. Whether your child is a beginner or a fluent speaker, they’ll enjoy a supportive environment to learn, practice, and appreciate Chinese songs while improving pronunciation, vocabulary, and cultural understanding.

Students can also choose to participate in the Australian Voice – Chinese Singing Competition and Video Competition. Additionally, they will have the chance to perform during our Chinese New Year celebrations.

Please let me know by April 2026 if your child would like to join.
(Some parents have already let me know – if that’s you, please ignore this message.)

To enrol, please email me at minmin.huang@pulteney.sa.edu.au. We look forward to a fantastic and musical experience with our students!

Best regards,

Minmin Huang
