Junior School, Term 1 Week 6 2026
Junior School Sports Day
The Junior School Sports Day will take place this Friday in the South Parklands from 8.45am-12.30pm. We would love to see as many families as possible join us on Friday.
Some important information:
- All students from Reception to Year 6 to go to their classrooms at 8.15am to get organised before moving to Vaughton Oval with their teachers.
- 9.00am Students assemble under House marquees (Year 3-6) or year level marquees (Reception – Year 2) for opening and whole group warm up at 9.15am. Students will then move to their first station with their teacher at 9.25am ready for 9.30am start.
- After dropping children at School, parents are invited to make their way to the seated area in the parklands. The opening ceremony and aerobics warm up will start at 9.15am.
Reception students will participate in events from 9.15am to 12.30pm.
This is a new initiative. At the conclusion of these activities, teachers will dismiss the students directly into their parents’ care from the Parklands (rather than returning to the school).
Parents, please collect your child from the class teacher, who will be maintaining a record of student movements at the end of the Athletics Carnival.
- All students wear their sports uniform.
- Prior to coming to School, students can apply coloured zinc cream and colour their hair to reflect their House colours, wear coloured socks, ribbons etc. Please note, spray cans are not to be brought to School for safety reasons.
- Students are asked to bring a small backpack containing the following named items: Play hat, sunscreen (apply before arriving at School), Drink bottle, Ample brain food and Recess
- Food and drink may be purchased from the Parents and Friends of Pulteney marquee throughout the morning.
- School bags are not required for the day.
- Please note that we no longer have an arrangement with the Adelaide City Council to waive parking on the southern side of South Terrace. Car park access can be found at the Gilles Street Car Park on the corner of Gilles Street and King William Street.
- After Sports Day, R-2 children who have been booked in for extra care will be available for collection from the ELC-Yr 2 library, and 3-6 Children in the library near the fish pond. At 3.20, any remaining children will be taken to OHSC.

Chinese Singing Club
Students from Reception to Year 6 are invited to join the Chinese Singing Club in Term 2 and Term 4! Sessions will be held every Friday at lunchtime in the Mandarin classroom. The club is limited to 30 students, so places are first come, first served.
The club is a fun and engaging way for students who love music to enhance their Chinese language skills through singing. Whether your child is a beginner or a fluent speaker, they’ll enjoy a supportive environment to learn, practice, and appreciate Chinese songs while improving pronunciation, vocabulary, and cultural understanding.
Students can also choose to participate in the Australian Voice – Chinese Singing Competition and Video Competition. Additionally, they will have the chance to perform during our Chinese New Year celebrations.
Please let me know by April 2026 if your child would like to join.
(Some parents have already let me know – if that’s you, please ignore this message.)
To enrol, please email me at minmin.huang@pulteney.sa.edu.au. We look forward to a fantastic and musical experience with our students!
Best regards,
Minmin Huang
