Take a Stand Against Blood Cancer and Ask a Question That Could Change Someone’s Day – R U OK?
More than 170,000 Australians are currently living with blood cancer, with 17 people losing their lives to the disease every day. This September, Pulteney students are taking a stand to help make a difference.
On Thursday 17 September, students will take part in the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave, raising vital funds and awareness to support people living with blood cancer, their families and life-changing research.
The World’s Greatest Shave will take place alongside our R U OK? Day activities, creating an opportunity for our community to come together for two important causes: supporting those affected by blood cancer and looking out for the mental health and wellbeing of those around us.
R U OK? Day is a national day of action dedicated to suicide prevention and mental health awareness. It reminds us that a simple, genuine question — “Are you OK?” — can open the door to a meaningful conversation and let someone know they are not alone.
