ELC, Term 3 Week 8 2025

Celebrating Fathers’ Day at our Stay and Play Morning

Thank you to all the dads and special visitors who spent time in the ELC last Tuesday. It was lovely to see so many of you participating in art and craft, reading, building, dressing up, sports and outdoor play. ELC Stay and Play mornings are a wonderful opportunity for community connection and involvement in the ELC program – we hope that our visitors find them just as enjoyable as the children do!

Flying Start for Kids in 2026

Pulteney ELC is excited to have been selected to partner in the State Government’s Flying Start for Kids initiative in 2026. This exciting recognition reflects the high standard we already deliver. With degree-qualified Early Childhood Teachers in every room, supported by experienced Diploma and Certificate III educators, our teacher-led model offers an exceptional start to your child’s learning journey. The Flying Start for Kids initiative is grounded in compelling research: more than 90% of a child’s brain development occurs before the age of five. Two years of preschool before starting school provides the strongest possible foundation for success in learning and in life. The funding provided through this initiative will enable us to strengthen our existing program—particularly by enhancing our partnerships with allied health professionals and expanding professional development opportunities for our educators.

For funding and reporting purposes, partner services are required to collect information about children enrolling in 3- and 4-year-old preschool in 2026. We will be distributing forms to ELC families shortly and kindly request that they are returned before the term ends on Friday 26 September.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. To learn more about the Flying Start for Kids initiative, visit https://www.earlychildhood.sa.gov.au/

Pulteney App

The ELC uses the Pulteney App to advise families of important news and short notice information, such as the cancellation of Yartangka Bush Kindy when extreme weather is forecast. We encourage all ELC families to download the app and to set your subscriptions to receive ELC notices.  Everything you need to know about the app can be found here.
