ELC, Term 2 Week 4 2026

The completion of our new internal ELC Kurrajong fence and coded gates marks an important step in enhancing safety and security for all children in response to updated government legislation. We kindly ask that the gate code is not shared with children or with anyone who does not require access, helping us maintain a safe and well managed environment. Over the coming weeks, you may notice some additional adjustments to the locks and gates as we finalise this work, and we appreciate your patience and support during this transition.

Our Mother’s Day, and special friends, Stay and Play was a joyful celebration, even with the wet weather adding its own sense of drama. It was wonderful to see so many family members joining in with play, card‑making, necklace crafting and painting alongside the children. These shared experiences strengthen each child’s developing sense of identity and belonging within our ELC and wider school community. We are deeply grateful for the time, enthusiasm and warmth our families brought to the morning—it truly enriched the experience for us all.

Yartangka Volunteers

We enjoyed drizzly weather and some wonderful puddle play at Yartangka this week! Please remember to pack your child’s wet weather outwear such as waterproof jacket, trousers or onesie.

We appreciate the volunteers already signed up and actively helping to support our Yartangka Bush Kindy Program. To enable the program to continue to run in its current format we do require additional volunteers on some days, particularly Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please contact Ms. Jenny Brozel if you are able to help at all. Jenny.brozel@pulteney.sa.edu.au

Policies for family feedback

As part of our quality processes, families are invited to provide feedback on ELC policies from time to time. We currently have updated and draft policies for review at the ELC Policy Review Point. If you are interested in reviewing and commenting, please come to the ELC Office.

National Reconciliation Week at Pulteney – Week 7

As part of National Reconciliation Week, students from ELC to Year 12 will contribute to a whole-school paper chain project symbolising our shared commitment to reconciliation. Each class will create a link using the colours of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags, with students adding their name or a message of reflection.

Badge making will also take place in the Quad during recess and lunch on Monday 1 and Tuesday 2 June, with a gold coin donation available for those who wish to contribute.

Key events include:

• Senior School Assembly – Tuesday 2 June, 8.45am (special guest speaker)
• Middle School Assembly – Thursday 4 June, 8.45am
• Junior School Chapel Service – Friday 5 June (paper chain display and celebration)

We look forward to coming together as a community to take part in this important week.

Timing of Activities

Please note that while National Reconciliation Week officially begins earlier through Reconciliation Australia, Pulteney’s whole-school activities will commence from Monday 1 June. This timing allows our community to fully engage in both Founders’ Day and the School Musical Production in Week 6.
