ELC, Term 2 Week 2 2026
Last Thursday was the first day of Yartangka Bush Kindy for the year. We didn’t expect such a warm day to visit Stick City. We needed sunscreen and hats instead of gumboots and raincoats. Children were interested in potion making and mark making with black markers and paint. It was a big morning for Yulti children experiencing Yartangka for the first time. Using magnifying glasses and binoculars was a popular way of exploring what was on the ground and in the trees. Ms. Linda shared a meditation at the beginning of the session to help us settle into the environment. Reverend Paul heard us about to leave to cross the bridge and wanted to join us as well. We look forward to noticing the changes the seasons bring to each city at Yartangka.
Reminder: Update Details
If any of your contact details or your child’s medical details have changed please contact Ms Chloe Moir at ELC@pulteney.sa.edu.au, or 882165566.
Policies for family feedback
As part of our quality processes, families are invited to provide feedback on ELC policies from time to time. We currently have updated and draft policies for review at the ELC Policy Review Point. If you are interested in reviewing and commenting, please come to the ELC Office.
Update: Kurrajong Building internal fence installation
Further to our previous communications, installation of the internal coded fence within the Kurrajong Building will commence this weekend (Saturday 2 May), with part or all of the fence expected to be in place by Monday 4 May.
Access codes will be shared with ELC families as soon as possible, which may be following completion of the installation. Staff will be available on Monday morning to assist with access and any questions.
As previously advised, this is an ELC-specific safety measure; however, Reception to Year 2 families who have previously used the back/southern stairs, will now need to use either the elevator or the western/kiss and drop stairs.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Yartangka Bush Kindy Volunteers
We are seeking volunteers to join us at Yartangka. It is a great way to experience this time outdoors with your child and the benefits it offers for all children. A Working with Children Check is required and completion of RRHAN training for volunteers. If you are interested and have time available, we would love to hear from you.
