Deputy Principal, Term 1 Week 10 2026

As we come to the close of Term 1, there is a natural pause in the rhythm of school life, this term has rushed by. We can take a moment to reflect, to give thanks, and to look ahead with renewed energy. It has been a vibrant and purposeful start to the year, filled with learning, growth, and the strengthening of relationships across our community. Our students have embraced opportunities with enthusiasm, our staff have guided with care and expertise, and together we have continued to build a culture grounded in connection and belonging.

This time of year, also invites us into the season of Easter, a period rich in meaning and tradition. Within the Anglican Christian perspective, Easter sits at the very heart of faith. It is a story of resurrection and life, the promise that even in the face of challenge and uncertainty, hope endures. It speaks of sacrifice and love, seen in the example of Christ, and offers each of us an invitation towards renewal and transformation. This is a chance to begin again with courage, compassion, and purpose. It is also a time of faith and community, where gathering, whether in quiet reflection or shared worship, strengthens the bonds that hold us together.

Alongside these beliefs, Easter is also embraced more broadly as a cultural celebration. It marks a season of new beginnings, echoing the rhythms of nature as autumn settles in here in Australia, yet still carrying the symbolic sense of renewal and fresh starts. It is a time for families and friends to gather, to share meals, laughter, and traditions that create lasting memories. I know that the joy of Easter can be seen in simple moments—children participating in egg hunts, the giving of small gifts, and the continuation of traditions that connect generations. I will get away with a group of friends for the 35th year which is something very special to us all as once again, that connection shows how much we value our friendship as we now live quite a distance from each other.

What unites these perspectives is a shared theme: renewal, hope, and community. Whether through faith, family, or festivity, Easter reminds us of the importance of coming together and looking forward with optimism.

As we head into the holiday break, I hope this season offers each member of our community time to rest, to reconnect, and to embrace the sense of renewal that Easter brings. We look forward to welcoming
