Acknowledging Academic Excellence  

At Pulteney, we recognise the value of all aspects of school life. Importantly, we acknowledge and celebrate academic excellence in myriad ways. At the recent Middle and Senior School assemblies, we had the opportunity to celebrate the academic achievements of Middle and Senior School students through the awarding of Academic Merits and Academic Excellence Awards. 

Academic Merit Awards are an acknowledgement of students are deemed to be the top performing academic student in each class, for Years 7 to 11, in each semester.  

Academic Excellence Awards are an acknowledgement of students who have performed at a consistently excellent standard across all subjects over the course of a semester.  

204 Academic Merits were awarded, with 107 students receiving Academic Excellence Awards. Some key stand outs included Dash Heffernan-Lucic (Year 10) and Bella Zhang (Year 8) who both received six Academic Merits.    

It is worth noting that academic performance contributes to House Rungie Cup, under the watchful (and statistically astute) eye of Head of House Emeritus Mr John Taylor. It is also important to acknowledge the significant efforts of Mr John Taylor and Ms Julie Dangerfield in coordinating the awards. 

We look forward to celebrating further excellence at Pulteney’s Speech Night to be held on Thursday 26 November at the Adelaide Convention Centre at 7.00pm.
