More than a lunch, a Pulteney tradition

One of the things that makes Pulteney special is the strength of the relationships within our community, and The Pulteney Foundation Long Lunch has long been one of those occasions that brings people together.

Over the years, we’ve gathered around many different themes, in different settings and with plenty of memorable moments along the way. But at its heart, the Long Lunch has always been about the same thing: connection, community and supporting Pulteney.

It’s an afternoon to catch up with old friends, but just as importantly, to make new ones. For families who are newer to Pulteney, it’s a particularly lovely opportunity to get to know other parents and caregivers from your child’s year level in a relaxed setting. Those connections matter. They become the familiar faces at School events, on the sidelines and throughout the many years our children spend at Pulteney.

The Long Lunch has also made a significant contribution to the work of The Pulteney Foundation, raising funds over many years to support projects and opportunities that enrich our School and benefit both current and future generations of Pulteney students.

This year, on Sunday 13 September, we’re bringing a taste of Italy to the Long Lunch with Mangia, bevi, divertiti! Expect wonderful food, entertainment, live and silent auctions and, most importantly, a relaxed afternoon around the table with good company.

Everyone is welcome. You don’t need to be part of a particular group or already know a table full of people. Whether you’re a current parent or caregiver, an Old Scholar, a member of staff, a past parent, or simply a friend and supporter of Pulteney, we would love you to join us.

And if you’re a little on the fence, I’d encourage you to come along. The Long Lunch really is a special Pulteney tradition; a chance to enjoy ourselves, strengthen the connections that make our community what it is, and support something that ultimately benefits our students.

Tickets close this Friday 4 September, so now is the time to gather some friends, nominate the year level or group you’d like to sit with, and secure your seats.

I hope to see you there.
