Cricket
Senior Girls v Scotch College

PGS 5/32 lost to Scotch College 0/35

The Pulteney girls were out in force on Friday, with Isla Cross making her debut, adding to the strong contingent of Middle School representation in the team. We batted solidly against a very impressive bowling attack. Lucy Allen held the innings together with poise, some lovely cover drives and good running between the wickets before being retired. Tilly Williams and Ellouise Dodd also impressed with the bat, putting excellent value on their wickets and playing some good strokes.

Addison Ritossa opened the bowling for us and put on a great display, bowling good lines and length. Unfortunately, rain interrupted this innings and we only managed four overs before conditions became too wet. We have just the one match left against Pembroke, and it will be great to see all girls out there to farewell our Year 12s and thank them for their many years of service.

1st XI vs PAC

PAC 9/86 (Ormsby 5/6, Glasson 3/10)
Pulteney 4/87 (Parish 38)
Pulteney win by 6 wickets.

PAC won the toss and chose to bat, making a steady start and weathering the early seam attack before Max Ormsby tore through the lineup with a devastating seventh over, claiming three wickets. He continued his onslaught with two more scalps in his next two overs, completing a sensational five-wicket haul and finishing with extraordinary figures of 5/6.

Angus Glasson then cleaned up the tail, taking 3/10, though a gritty final-wicket stand pushed PAC to 9/86.

In reply, after an early setback, keeper-turned-seamer Zach Parish showed his all-round ability with a career-best 38. The 1st XI now sit at 2–2, heading into next week’s season decider with everything on the line!

Congratulations to Xavier Lee who took home a Bronze Medal at the recent SA Fencing State Championships.

  • Open B Men’s Foil

Soccer

Congratulations to Henry Pembshaw who has been selected to represent South Australia as the goalkeeper in the Under 14 Boys team for the 2025 Kuala Lumpur Invitational Cup, which will be held in Kuala Lumpur this December.

Rowing

Year 6 Come and Try Rowing

This week marks the final session of the Year 6 Come and Try Rowing Program on Thursday, 13 November, with around 50 Pulteney students and coaches taking to the water on the River Torrens.

Over the course of four sessions, the school’s newest rowers have learnt the finer points of the sport – from how to carry the large rowing boats, to identifying the different parts of the boat, understanding the rowing stroke, and responding to the special calls used by coaches.

The program concludes with a mini regatta and BBQ, proudly hosted by the Pulteney Boat Club Parents’ Committee for the rowers and their families. It promises to be a wonderful celebration of the students’ enthusiasm and achievements.

All members of the Pulteney community are warmly invited to attend at the Pulteney Boat Club, Festival Drive (west side), River Torrens, Adelaide.

A big thank you to all the rowers, families, and staff/coaches who have supported this initiative.

3rd Grade and Novice State Championships

On Saturday 15 November, many Pulteney crews will compete in the 3rd Grade and Novice State Championships. With 23 entries across singles, doubles, and quads, our rowers are eager to build on their recent success at the Murray Bridge Regatta.

The 1,000-metre races will feature rowers in the early stages of their rowing journey – a fantastic opportunity to test their progress and experience the excitement of championship racing.
