Performing Arts cocurricular Update

All cocurricular classes finished last week, other than Stage Band 1 and JOTT. It has been a huge year for so many performing arts groups and I want to take this opportunity to thank the students, and the parents for supporting them in all the performances and home practice, as well as coming along to see the many performances.

Our 2023 Performing Arts cocurricular booklets have now been distributed so you can see when all our groups are in the timetable. Please forward any issues or questions to me directly.

Please note the below 2023 co-curricular updates:

Musical Theatre Troupe is a Year 7-12 activity.

Year 1/2 Dance Troupe will take place on Tuesdays from 3.30-4.45pm.

Year 3/4 Dance Troupe will take place on Mondays from 3.30-4.45pm.

There is no co-curricular choir program scheduled for Year 3 and Year 4 students. These year levels take part in a choral program within their academic tuition.

Jesus Christ Superstar 2023

As we ramp up preparations for our 2023 JCS show, we are seeking parent assistance, specifically with costumes. We have staff members Anna Williamson and Katie Jackson directing and leading the costume department for this exciting show, but we need more hands. If you are interested in helping with costumes for the JCS ’23 show, please email me directly at jonathon.rice@pulteney.sa.edu.au

The scheduled read through of the script with all lead cast and staff production crew is confirmed for Thursday 15 December:

  • 12.30pm: shared lunch (bring a plate)
  • 1.00pm – 4.00pm (approx): script read through (followed by a staff production meeting)

An email will be sent out this week to the student lead cast that are required to attend.

Please see the video below.  HERE

Speech Night

We are very much looking forward to Speech Night, which will be held this Thursday 1 December at 7.00pm at the Adelaide Convention Centre. The Senior Drum Corps, Senior String Ensemble, Jazz on the Terrace, MS/SS Dance Troupe, Stage Band 1 and Joaquin Velasco will all be performing as part of this year’s celebration.

Students will be required to attend a sound check on the morning of the event and must arrange own parent/carer transport to arrive at the Adelaide Convention Centre by 9.00am. Students will also need to provide own parent/carer transport to and from the event in the evening. An email with parent consent was sent last week and includes the finer details.

Everyone must arrive between 6.15-6.30pm. Please see pick-up times below:

7.05pm: Senior String Ensemble and Senior Drum Corps finish and can be collected if the student is not engaged with another group or an award

Jazz on the Terrace Auditions 2023

We had so many wonderful and passionate young singers audition for the 2023 JOTT group. I want to take this opportunity to thank the students for putting themselves out there and having a red hot go at becoming the 2023 JOTT group. Details around the outcomes of this audition process will happen later this week. Congratulations to those successful.
