Year 7 and 8 Integrated Performing Arts Performances

This year we have both the Year 7 and 8 cohorts engaged in the Integrated Performing Arts programs, where each year level has completed a series of short courses. Throughout Term 4, they have been busily creating a live concert program to be performed in Week 8 this term. The year 7s will do two concerts on Monday 5 December at 2.00pm for Junior School students, and then again at 6.00pm for parents. The Year 8s will do the same concert format and times on Tuesday 6 December. All concerts will be held in Wyatt Hall. Please put these dates into your diary as these short concerts are sure to be entertaining.

At last week’s funeral, our students played wonderfully well and managed to lighten the spirit of the post funeral gathering. Thanks to the following students for their time and effort: Tiger Wu, Aiyana Ishino, Lucas Truong, Josh Song, Sam Williams, Mary Butcher and Jaxon Cirocco.

Remembrance Day

Special thanks to the Jazz on the Terrace members for their performance at the Remembrance Day breakfast held at Adelaide Convention Centre last Friday, and to the members of the Senior Concert Band, Senior Concert Choir and Senior Drum Corps at our Remembrance Day Service. It all went so well. I really appreciate the students performing at these events, and with such a high-performance standard.

Christmas Pageant

Congratulations to the Senior Drum Corps for participating in the Christmas Pageant. Most schools aspire for this type of opportunity, and we are so blessed to be able to provide a wonderful group to play each year. Thanks to Mr Frank Fragomeni and the students of the Senior Drum Corps.

Year 10/11 Drama Productions

This week, the current Year 10 and 11 drama production will be held in the new Dance Factory space over two nights – Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 November. We look forward to seeing those who have purchased tickets then.

SACE Stage 1 Solo Performance Assessment

On Tuesday last week we enjoyed the current SACE Stage 1 solo performance class, performed at the Chapel to a small but engaged audience. The students played so well with everyone being in the A band. Well done to the class.

Musical Theatre Troupe Production

On Monday 21 November, Week 6, our co-curricular Musical Theatre Troupe will be presenting a mixture of singing, dancing and acting in this short but impactful performance. It will take place in the Dance Factory at 6.00pm. No tickets are required. We hope to see you then.

Year 5/6 Drama Club Presentation

On Tuesday 22 November, Week 6, the Year 5/6 drama club along with their teacher, Katie Jackson, is proud to present an overview of what they have been working on this semester. It will be held in the Chapel from 4.30-5.00pm. All Year 5/6 drama club parents are invited.

Viewing dance classes in Dance Factory and other co-curricular events

Child privacy and security is our number one obligation here at Pulteney Grammar School.

Please be advised that unless you are invited to attend a small performance or to watch a co-curricular session, parents are not permitted to watch a performing arts co-curricular session like a dance class or big band rehearsal at any time, for example. In fact, we would appreciate your support of this never happening unless I approve this option and you are fully informed and invited to attend such a rehearsal or event. I greatly appreciate your understanding in this matter.

Instrumental Soiree

Our final soiree for the year will take place on Tuesday 22 November, Week 6, in the Chapel at 6.00pm. Parent consent will be sent to participating students this week. This is a free event, and all are welcome.

Chapel Piano

Thank you to our four students Oscar Bridges, Taylor Schwartz, Lucas Truong and Josh Song for their performances at our piano donors thank you evening. Thank you also to FoPA Chairperson Lyn Heard and her team of people who enthusiastically raised funds for our chapel piano. Most importantly thank you to those who donated a key. The chapel piano continues to be played at our chapel services, when music lessons are held in the chapel, by students practicing for their exams, performing arts concerts and performances and during lunch and recess by students who just like to spend time in the chapel and play peaceful music.
