Outdoor and Experiential Learning

Outdoor Learning

A few of our team members will be working with both the middle and senior Heads of Houses this week, for some Middle School celebration days, and a Year 10 immersive day, similar to the successful Year 9 immersive day recently. We are grateful for our growing relationship with the Heads of House and sub-schools, and the opportunities that this relationship has for our students; blurring the lines between classroom and outdoor learning, and developing critical thinking and flexibility in the process. We are excited to see how this relationship continues to develop into future years too.

Venture Club

Next week is the big week! The senior venture club trip will depart on Sunday morning, flying to Tasmania for a week full of mountain biking at Derby, Kayaking and exploring the gorgeous Wineglass Bay in Freycinet National Park, and hiking the three Capes Track; a world-famous hike that is only accessible by boat, and will see the students traverse above some of the Southern Hemisphere’s largest sea cliffs. These areas are some of the highlights of Tasmania’s famous East Coast.
At the same time, The Middle School trip will embark along the Great Ocean Road, stopping for a day of hiking in the Grampians, and surfing at Anglesea beforehand.

Not only do both of these programs cover a range of outdoor pursuits, but do so in some of Australia’s most beautiful and famous wild places. We wish for both parties to have great weather and times.
