Junior School, Term 4 Week 7
Junior School Orientation
Students in the Junior School will be involved in an Orientation Day this Friday 2 December. The Junior School Orientation program provides an opportunity for all students to move into their classroom for 2023 to get to know their class teacher and classmates in readiness for next year. We will also welcome new students and their parents to the School on this day.
End of year Celebrations
Staff and students in the Junior School are looking forward to celebrating the end of the 2022 School year with the following activities next week.
Party Day
Students will enjoy one of the most popular days on the School calendar next Monday- Party Day. All students from Reception to Year 6 will enjoy participating in a program of age and stage appropriate activities throughout the day. Examples of some of the fun planned for the day include a visiting a magician, jumping castles, water slides (Years 3-6) face painters and a barbeque. Further information about this day will be communicated to parents during the week.
Year 2 Celebration
Parents of students in Year 2 are invited to our final Junior School Assembly for the year during which we will celebrate the Year 2 students as they move to Year 3 in 2023. This assembly will be held on Tuesday 6 December at 8.40am in the Robert Henshall Sports Centre. We look forward to seeing you there.
Junior Sport Presentation
Year 3 – 6 students are invited to the Junior Sport presentation afternoon on Tuesday 6 December from 3.30pm – 4.45pm in the Robert Henshall Sports Centre. Awards for players deemed ‘Most Improved Player’ as well as a ‘Coaches Award’ will be given out to students across all teams (Year 3 – 6) who competed in an external competition during the year. At the completion of the awards ceremony, light refreshments and pizza will be served on the Prep Basketball Court.
Anglicare Christmas Nature Market
All students are eagerly preparing for the Anglicare Christmas Market on Wednesday 7 December from 8.30am – 9.15am on the Year 3-6 basketball court.
All classes have designed and made items in recent weeks to sell on the day as part of their Term 4 Enterprise program.
Students are invited to design and construct at home in the lead up to the market by making, growing and creating items to sell at the market. The focus is on using recyclable material where possible and healthy, low sugar recipes for any food prepared. Parents are asked to provide recipes with any food sent in to School to sell to enable staff to assist students with allergies as they purchase items.
Year 6 Celebration
Parents of students in Year 6 are invited to a special service to be held on Thursday 8 December at 8.45am in the Robert Henshall Sports Centre during which we will celebrate the Year 6 students as they move to Middle School in 2023.
Reception – Year 4 Christmas Concert
The Reception – Year 4 Christmas Concert will be held in the Robert Henshall Sports Centre on Thursday 8 December at 6.00pm. The 2022 concert will involve all children from Reception to Year 4, with the performance themed ‘Lights, Camel, Action’. Parents are asked to accompany students to their classroom at 5.30pm on Thursday before making their way to the Sports Centre.
